Arrrgh! Currently facing a Zi8 Vs. Vado HD 3rd Gen dilemma – and unlike your previous Vado review (which sold it for me) this one has left me a little bit sticky.

I guess i’l going to plump for better low light res, wider lens and dodgy controls over the more expandable, cheaper but narrow lensed Zi8.

I actually have one of the Vado 2nd Gen HD cameras and could not decide whether or not to keep it. I was thinking about returning it and getting the Kodak ZI6. After reading your reviews, I think I will keep the Vado (definitely will not purchase the Kodak). I bought the Vado during the holidays because I needed a new camera and did not have a video recorder. I was tempted by the Kodak because of the AA batteries and the ability to use a SD card. Although I have not played with the Vado a lot, it was very easy to get started and use. Mine also came with software, so all-in-all, I guess I got a good deal and am now satisfied that this was the best video recorder for the money. Thanks for the review and helping me to make-up my mind!

I found your comments as well as others quite interesting. How does the Vado 3rd Gen HD do in low light? Any others you might recommend for low light?

A little different review than your previous ones (vado vs flip vs kodak). Seems like you focused a lot of attention on the exterior.What I think the pocket cam review should come down to is quality of the video in all light scenarios (test videos), wide angle aspects, and audio quality. The touch screen controls are something you could get used to being there and not accidently hit them. Smudges? White vado hd 3rd gen. Looking foward to a review follow up on your impressions after a little use with the new cam. I’m planning on picking up this cam, but I might see what shows up at CES before I make a final decision. Thanks for reviewing the Vado 3rd Gen HD Pocket Camcorder, i found it really interesting and having given me somethings to think about.

After watching your vid review last year of the 1st Gen it convinced me to buy one , before seeing the review i was going to buy the Kodak ZI6 but as i said you convinced me to get the Vado.

I have been thinking of getting the Kodak ZI8 as it has some specs that interested me but now seeing your review of the 3rd Gen Vado i have to think again of what Pocket Cam i want to upgrade to.
