Cookies
I don't mind cookies. I eat cookies on occasion. I even baked cookies once! However, my browser's Cookies have suddenly stopped working. This started happening a few weeks ago. No matter what I do (clear the cache, reset the INDEX.DAT files, 'default' the Cookies settings, etc.), I can't seem to get any cookie to stick. It's useless to log into a site now… as I'll have to do it again in another five minutes or so. It's frustrating, to say the least. I've never cared too much about Cookies – and feel that their “evil intent” is much ado about nothing. I'm frustrated, and getting ready to clear the drive and start Windows anew once more; it's been about a year since my last wipe-out. Cookies… when I need 'em, I can't use 'em.

True dat about the format. I'd do it, I had that problem about a month or two ago, I just thought to myself “you know, I need to format anyway” so I did that instead of possibly wasting more time trying to figure out a solution. I say YAY for extarnal firewire drives to backup into.

Good grief! Use this opportunity to install Firefox. Please.
Is Format-Restore the new reboot?

Ya, I would have to agree with the other post. It's time to look at Opera or Firefox IMO. Both offer so much in the long run, too.
The only time IE comes on for me is during Windows update. ;o)

Cookies, Windows Explorer right-click error, and non-deleting History
I did a format on the ol' hardeningdrive not long ago. The three problems mentioned above were due to SP2 installation (thats my belief). After the whole format excitement wore off, I did the re-installment plan and re-applied my SP2 back into the scheme of things. Cookies – gooood! Windows Explorer right-click error and non-deleting History – not gooood! Did my research and found out that one of my Adobe handlers caused the right-click errors in Windows Explorer. I used ShellExView v1.10 – http://www.nirsoft.net to fix that problem – works goood! Deleting the History from Internet Explorer, still a problem. I noticed that I have to delete (by hand) some of the history, until it will not delete no more, and then go up and do the Tools>>Internet Options>>Clear History. After that, it's fine, … until my next History encounter.
