I have found that it isn’t so much what you collect, as the passion that you have for your hobby-heck one could collect tiddly winks if it makes them happy-for that is what it is truly about. Maybe you collect barbed wire (and yes people do, there is even a ‘barbed wire museum!), old marbles, coins-it doesn’t matter. It is the value that you get in finding and amassing the collection that makes it fun. Myself, I am an avid vinyl record collector- not only do I get a physical object, must an eclectic array of great music as well!

I’ve got one thing collecting dust in my house, and thats a Centris 610 in the basement. Even though some Mac collector would probably pay a hefty sum to complete his collection, somewhere in the world, I could never part with that machine. Is it bad that I’m a collector w/o a collection?

Wow! Good list. I as well am I collector of different things since I was 6. I have today tons and tons of Batman Collectables flags, statues, comic books etc. My uncle is also a proffesional baseball card collector. He has a building in his backyard devoted to all of them! I think these are good tips.I collect hats. I have like 20 of them. I don’t want to sell them. I want to pass them on to my kids.And them pass on to theres and so forth.

Ive collected beer bottle caps just for a hobby but i dont put any money into it I just get them from restauraunts I go and bars, Ive got from many countries and Id recommend for people that want to start their own collection to keep at it and dont give up :)
