Chris Tolles of Topix on Local Content

If you live in a U.S. zip code, chances are there’s a Topix feed related to your zip code, often providing highly targeted information specific to your neighborhood. Topix does this through a complex tracking system that looks for information in blog posts referencing specific geographically relevant data to attempt to direct the content into its proper geographic niche. In many cases, Topix feeds are providing better information for your locale than the newspaper in your area because they aggregate information from a much larger pool of data. At SES New York, Chris talked with Chris Tolles about Topix and how they are changing the way people discover and engage with local information.
