After running into Jake (accidentally) at Friedrich's, I bopped over to our storage unit in Valley Junction to look for my collection of Garbage Pail Kids. Yes, I have every single one of 'em ever printed – sitting inside plastic card jackets in a gigantic binder. Somewhere. Gretchen believes that she took them to her folks house to keep them safe from the elements, but I'm waiting to get a confirmation from Shelley (her mom, my mother-in-law). Lucky for me, Valley West Mall has an I-Spot, so I've got easy access to broadband from the food court. Taco bell, McDonald's, Subway, Pizza Hut – all fine dining establishments I won't support. All I need now is an outlet. I may have to move elsewhere when the battery meter dips below 5%. Anyway, if you're in town, I should be here until ~4:59PM. Look for the only guy in the mall with a friggin' laptop.

Hmmmm….Friedrich's…..Do they have coffee and ladies underware?

Is it just a coincidence that you brought up Garbage Pail Kids just as it was announced that the cards will be rereleased next month? Just wondering. Also, on TechTV, when that guy broke the round one-of-a-kind plastic sound thingee, was that real or was it staged? Thanks!

I used to collect Garbage Pail Kids! ;-) I also wish I could make it to Gnomedex one of these years, since I am only a couple hours away from Des Moines. Sucks to be me, I guess…

I think it's funny that Antnony's site has “cynic” in it ;-)

I just want to say that you have an awesome last name.

And here I thought I was the only one from the Midweest to collect GPK back then. I remember the teachers throwing the biggest fit when those came out haha. Unfortunately I gave all mine away when I started collecting Baseball Cards.

Gretchen took the GPK cards to her parents huh? When my gf brought my comics to her parents house, i found it in the garbage pail out back…

Why 4:59 pm?

I believe he broke the expensive and rare “thingy” (early form of recording media) accidentally. I thought it was staged since most people would have been more careful, or so you'd think. After crumbling the thingy into a hundred pieces, his burst of profanity didn't sound scripted.
