Several people joined me on a GoToMeeting. Using that, we can share and see each others’ desktops, as well as talk to each other. During this video, one of the chatters shared with us the site he uses to customize his desktop.

GoToMeeting is a great way to conference in several people at once. I’ve been using it for about a week now, and we’ve had a great time getting a bunch of our community members together. The interaction has sparked some excellent conversation.

One of the chatters has a really cool desktop, and was asked where he got it from. There are two different places he goes: DeviantArt.com and CrystalXP.net. At both sites, you can obtain free images to use for your desktop wallpaper.

Changing your wallpaper on your XP desktop is simple. Once you’ve saved the picture you want to use, do the following:

Right click anywhere on your desktop and choose “properties”.
Click on the “desktop” tab
Click “browse”, and navigate to where your picture is saved, then select it.
Click “Apply”, and you’re all set! You can also choose whether to display the picture centered, stretched, or tiled.

Also, you can simply navigate to your picture on your hard drive, right click on it, and choose to “save as desktop background”… you just don’t get the options to center it, etc.

bricopacks is a pain to uninstall, i recommend just patching the uxtheme.dll with the uxtheme patcher and hunting for the themes yourself (deviantart is great)

you guys are slow, Bricopacks was out for a while…EVEN on youtube! BUT, VISTA TRANSFORMATION PACK IS BETTER!! and there are more softwares that make it look more like vista…..Flyakite makes Windows xp look like Mac OS 10.5……

i has animated start bars and backgrounds
awesome stuff.

You guys are all stupid! Who cares about themes. Computers are only good for work and if you go crazy for things like Crystal XP then your a loser. Go outside and get away from your pretty much useless computers.

i have vista & i dont like it so i wanted xp so i downloaded it it worked! but in some parts vista still takes over i didnt get to rocket thing but thanks dude cus im trying to install ubuntu & i think its vista thats holding it back to godbless` t.c.

uxtheme patch for windows does the regular themes and windowblinds is for more advanced stuff like vista skins with transparent title bars and making mac skins have the three buttons on the left like osx

if you want a real vista style just download any pack that change the taskbar and icons to vista style, then download true transparency and then download the vista sidebar

The Vista Theme Packs work great, download that and then yahoo widgets with Vista Wallpaper pack all together then you got yourself a beautiful desktop, any questions? ask me:)

I can’t change my background to a pic. i can only change the color. My background options won’t light up…….any tips?????….I can’t set a pic. as desktop background either.
