Gnomedex 5.0 changed my life – deeply. It was finally the conference I had always envisioned it to be, thanks to the help of all of my closest friends who made everything possible (I'll start the official list once I fully recover). Ponzi, you are a wonderful business partner, and I'm very lucky to have you in my life. After dinner last night, discussion with a couple of very close friends brought me to reflect upon where I actually fit into this universe of ideas. This morning, I initated sweeping changes to the way my personal blog looks and works. First, 95% of the ads have been eliminated. Second, anonymous comments have been turned off completely. Third, I've swapped my handwriting font for a cleaner one. Fourth, I hope that's just the beginning.

I had a great time Chris, as did the rest of the Lockergnome crew that attended. ;o)

Two things:
1) Thank god for changing the font. Everytime I read the site out of the aggregator I found myself profoundly annoyed.
2) You should include a link to the registration page in the comment area. I had to search for about 3 minutes to figure out how to create an account. It should be more like 3 seconds.
Beyond that, congratulations!

I think it changed everybody, Chris. I know I'm on that list. Thanks for having me and allowing me to share. Let's do it again.

Thank you SO much for removing the 'lined paper' background. It's the little things that count…

Thanks so much to you, Ponzi, your parents and all the wonderful people you brought together.
I truly felt like I did in 1997 when as a practicing lawyer I attended an Internet marketing coference in Monterey. I realized then he power of the net was going to change everything.
I have been preaching an uphill battle that RSS and blogs will do the same for people. Though I believed it till now, I know it to be true after attending Gnomedex.

Chris — I had a fantastic time at GD5 this weekend. I learned so much and met so many cool people. The thing that really sunk in for me on Saturday was the passion of the people in the room for what they do. I bumped into Jeff Barr as I was leaving the conference, and after we both agreed we were buzzing from the weekend, he said, “No matter what you do, what the other guys are doing is 20 times cooler.” I truly think everyone felt that awe and respect for each other, and it was a kick in the ass to be a part of it.
You and Ponzi were the perfect hosts. You know how to set the right tone and atmosphere for people to connect and interact, and that's no small thing.
Actors are notorious for watching a production and thinking, “I would have done this better.” As an ex-actor, the highest compliment I can think to give is this: I wouldn't have changed a thing.
Thanks for everything.

Actually, I always kinda liked the lined paper background and the handwriting font. I also like the new look, though, too. Change is inevitable and in this case, it looks good, also.
Sorry to have missed Number 5, but the timing of the event just didn't work out this year. I had a great time in Tahoe at Gnomedex 4, and wish I could have made the trek out to Seattle. Oh, well, next year?
