I decided I would record my iPhone 3GS review right from my iPhone 3GS. If you’re going to make a video review of your new phone, I encourage you to try it this way, and link my to your YouTube response! You do know that you can push the video directly to YouTube using the built-in tool from your phone, right?
You might have seen me visiting the Throwboy.com factory the other day (it was streamed live, then I uploaded my pillow interview to YouTube). I can think of a few reasons you’d want these pillows somewhere in your home:
Apple has officially released the next iPhone operating system. It feels like Christmas to some of us, given that this new version boasts the addition of several long-awaited features (including “copy and paste”). Did you ever know how most presentations suck? It’s bad enough that people doing them tend to suck, as well. It’s not their fault, though. Most of the presentation software is just not that good. A good presentation shows pictures, and don’t have much text. The worst ones to watch are where the speaker just reads every word from the slides! They drive me nuts! What do you use to create presentations? Tell me you aren’t using desktop software! Adobe has thrown their hat into the ring. They have a basic, online office suite and a new presentation software!

The music sounds great, doesn’t it? You’d never guess I’m listening to my iPhone, using external speakers, would you? The sound is very rich and deep. I was using Pandora to choose what to listen to, by the way. Those speakers kick, don’t they? I decided to relax by watching live TV on my iPhone, using the SlingPlayer App. It sells for about $30.00 right now. SlingPlayer is an excellent App. I can control the TV as if I was sitting right in front of a traditional television. I can tweak several different options, including the resolution. Also, I can access a full guide to see what’s playing!

I was fortunate to have my mom with me during Mother’s Day this year. I gave her an iPod, which is kind of funny. Up until now, she’s never wanted one. She had no idea how they worked, nor if she’d ever use the thing. She took it into an Apple store with her, and explained she had no clue what to do. They talked in circles around her about syncing and such. She walked out more confused than when they started.

This computer is tiny, because it’s a Mac Mini. It can run either Windows full-on, or Mac OS X. This is the latest revision of the series, and I’m glad there’s finally an updated one! I’ve been using my old Mac Mini to run the live stream with. Obviously, it worked ok since the stream was going out 24 hours a day.

Do you Ubuntu? If not, what’s your excuse? You don’t have to run it as your primary operating system, but all the cool kids are using it! Linux is sorta like ice cream – there are a ton of different flavors! It doesn’t even matter which distro you choose… go with what tastes right to you.

You may have an iPod, or may get one in the future. When you buy a new one, getting your data off the old one is a bit of a challenge. You could cry yourself to sleep at night, or use an easy solution to get the data off the old one!

I own only one iPod at this point. How many do you have? You may have two, or you may be with someone who also has one. To connect to charge them may be a bit of a challenge, since only one can go into the dock at a time – unless you get a Dual Dock.

Yes, it’s possible to have Linux and Windows installed on the same PC – and why wouldn’t you have both? You can install Linux using a live CD or even a USB drive. You could also use something like VMWare Fusion, as well.
Olivier Prud’homme decided to respond, at length, to my post on five ways Windows Vista is better than Mac OS X. The operating system wars will never subside, but if we could just stop talking in circles for one moment – maybe we could learn a thing or two about the OSes we choose not to use? Instead of basing opinions on assumptions or second-hand experiences, perhaps we’d be better served in trying different operating systems ourselves.
