Using Candles Appropriately at your Wedding
Candlelight is beautiful and romantic, absolutely. However, there are good and bad ways to incorporate candles into your wedding. Let’s look at a few of the good ways:
- Unity Candle – This is an integral part of most ceremonies. Lighting the Unity Candle has a very strong emotional connotation for most couples.
- Floating Bowl Candles – Buy inexpensive glass bowls, and fill them half full with water. Then add a couple of small and inexpensive floating candles. This is a “cheap”, yet gorgeous, way to decorate your guest dining tables.
- Lanterns – You can use these for an outdoor or indoor ceremony. Line your aisle with them, or create a path up to your reception site doors.
- Tapers and Votives – Jazz up decorative flower arrangements on tables with plain white candles. Or, purchase several taper candles in varying heights to create centerpieces. Place them into inexpensive glass holders, and tie ribbon around the center (or use hot glue).
