Thanks Chris for this nice find. Just wanted to add that http://www.efax.com offers a free service to receive faxes. Attach the number to your email and you receive the fax message there. Need to install software to view the faxes and long distance numbers are free. I believe it costs to receive the faxes in pdf format, get a local number, as well as sending a fax.

It’s a great service, but then i think: what a FAX is useful for these days? Email can do pretty much anything a fax can, and if you have a scanner it really does anything a fax does.
Also, fax uses paper and ink, which uses a lot of natural resources, which destroy the planet. Someday the printed fax goes to the trash, double-polluting the planet.
Yeah, email is less harmful.

Are there any free services for incoming faxes? Back in the day there was quite a few sites offering both incoming & outgoing faxing for free.
