Camera Glow Stick Trick

Camera Glow Stick Trick

The last time I did something like this, I had a far less powerful camera (and was still living in San Francisco). I thought it was about time I made a new version.

I used the Panasonic Lumix G1 to snap this photo – and the quality is astounding. If you haven’t done so already, click through and view the original size of this photo.

As I outlined in an earlier post, you need a digital camera that allows you to set a shutter priority. The rest is fairly simple. I’m not going to rehash the instructions as they’re already here.

That will be my next Digital camera. Nice picture. Going to try that soon I hope

Great trick Chris! Looks like a crystal signature!

This Photograph is great, the picture has very vibrate depth, crispness to it. Good photography work, Chris

Very nice, Chris. I remember when you posted the one in San Francisco, and then the write-up about how to do it. Then I got a camera that did shutter-priority and made my own. Ah, memories.

That is Amazing. I saw you doing it on your video.

dam the room doesnt even look dark like in the stream, nice work.

That trick is just too good. Was never really introduced to this until now and I’m stunned.

Thats one incredible picture. What camera is that. I wish i had chris’ desk.lol

Love this trick Chris. Thanks for the tutorial.

I’m gonna try this!!!

Thats a cool trick! Gotta have the camera to support it though. I don’t. That lighting in room is cool too. The red in the room really makes the “green” glow stick really “pop”..

Omg i think this is great Looks nice and I wish i could do this but i need a camera ;]

This is so cool! I have never seen something like this before and the quality is amazing!

I couldn’t believe there were people out there that didn’t know how to do this. The quality on that camera is crazy, I was watching the live feed when you were doing this. That room was quite dark, I’m amazed.

Wow Chris, how did you do that?

Anyways, awesome picture!

Hey, that image quality is quite amazing, makes your desk and computers look so gorgeus!

Nice cam

Too bad you cant use this as the live vid feed

then it would look so good

That is pretty fancy. I tired that as soon as I saw this post. I turned the light off so I didn’t have to write in cursive and it looks fairly decent. I just need a laser pointer now so it will be brighter.

Hi, I really appreciated reading this article. We supply glow sticks and flashing novelties and recently outsource the photography of these tricky products to be photographed for our new catalog. I was worried about being able to recreate that effect you have done so wonderfully in your photo above.

This has given me the confidence now to try and do this ourselves, but the cost of that camera is £500! Is there anything cheaper for doing something just as good as this? I’m by no means a professional.

Thanks
