Braun 8595
My Braun 8595 arrived today, and I can't wait for my next shave (tomorrow morning). I dare you to find a geekier electric shaver! I've been using Braun products for a few years now… after having gone through Norelcos and Remingtons. Once you go with a self-cleaning Braun, you can never go back. Its new multi-angled foil will undoubtedly spoil my face for life. Straight-edged razors are so 17th century. You may have tried an electric shaver before, but if you haven't tried a newer Braun, you owe it to yourself to give 'er a whirl. The shaver's head pivots, oscillates, and takes care of your stubble without trouble. At least, every Braun I've ever used has done that for me – which is why I'm sticking with the brand. Too bad I can't sell my old one… or should I? There's nothing wrong with the older electric shaver, but this new foil was made for wacky facial hair (like mine). Where's that five o'clock shadow when you need it?!

Has anyone used this one yet? I have a 7526 (something like that) and while it's good, it just doesn't get some of the hairs so I've been looking at this one.
I'd prefer to use a blade but got tired of nicking myself occasionally when I was paying enough attention.

Reading your post, Chris, made me wish I had posted my ode to a new shaver on my blog, which I didn't!
You might like your new Braun, but you should have tried the Philips Coolskin – it really is the coolest shaver out there, IMO. You use it in the shower. Uses Nivea shaving gel for a really smooth shave. The model I have has little LED displays to tell me when the gel needs replacing, when it needs recharging, when to deep clean, etc. Those little lights are so neat!
But you have your Braun now…

I've had three automatic cleaning shavers within the past few years. (2 Braun Synros and a Remington Titanium) I still have not found one that gets the hairs on my neck and underneath my chin very well. I'd like to try the new Braun 8595 Activator, but I'll wait to see what Chris thinks about it. I can't keep dropping big money for shavers that don't do the job and I have to buy refill cleaning kits for.
Let me know, man!
Regards,
Mitch

wow… i never thought about putting so much thought into my electric razor. I'm happy with with my mach3 turbo. You get the closness of a razor with the ease of an electric… i love it! even when i get a good 3-4 days growth it doesn't hurt or feel bad like a traditional straight razor.

I recently ordered an 8595 off of Ebay. I did my research beforehand. It’s amazing to see that some on-line stores are selling the 8595 for upwards of $215. How much did you all pay for it AND was it worth the price you paid?
I bought mine on ebay for $69+$11.99 shipping. I feel like I got a good deal (although I haven’t actually used it yet). What do you think?
