Boys and Their Toys
What? You thought I was selling my older hardware for the fun of it? Things I love about Kwyjibo, my new Sony Clie UX50: size, shape, weight, screen, features, functionality, convenience, power cradle. Things I don't love about Kwyjibo: (1) it relies on the Sony Memory Suck; (2) No keyboard navigation; (3) unmanageable USB port cover; (4) no way to flip between portrait / landscape mode; (5) deep reliance on ass-nasty QuickTime codecs; and (6) poor out-of-the-box Outlook integration. Even with these grievances aired, I must admit that I've been quite pleased with “it” so far. Then again, who's ever completely happy with their PDA?

Not really related — but I got a form in the mail today to get in on a class-action lawsuit for my Dell Inspiron. Just wondering if you'd received one as well since we both went through Dell-hell awhile back…

Happy with my PDA? Bah! I can't even decide on an OS! I have gone through 2 Windows CE (Pocket PC) PDAs, and 2 Palm OS-based PDAs. I am clueless as to which one suits me better. Palm with it's lawsuit against Grafitti, and windows CE devices with their grotesque prices throw me off every time. My next one MAY be a Clie, but I am looking at the T-Mobile Cellphone/PocketPC device. I just can't make do with my T-Mobile sidekick anymore – it isn't “sophisticated enough for my uber-techie ego.

Now that's a vague simpsons reference. Am I to assume Mr. pocket pc has gone palm?

Sony memory suck. Ha! I'll have to remember that one. You'd think Sony would figure out propietary doesn't sell well nor warm you to the geek masses but I guess not. Intel got a clue and dropped RAMBUT like a hot potato.
So I guess the Nokia 3650's organizer really sucks?

I agree. I sometimes use my cell phone for a PDA because its less bulky. Whatever works I guess. One of these days Ill invest on a PDA with a cellular service like yours

I'm the opposite of uber-techie. I don't need a PDA, and I cancelled my internet subscription with my cell phone. Waste of $20 extra bucks a month just to download stupid ring tones and look up movie show times. Ah maybe if I get a camera/cell phone, but I really don't need that either :(

I think I am the opposite, I am after a camera phone, the whole moblog thing has sparked my interest. I think I would be after the whole PDA/camera/phone, but I can live with just the PDA I have, and a phone.

I just got one. The keyboard is better than TG50 and Tungsten C. However, with the landscape mode all games I have are tiny. Wonder why they don't have a method for viewing portrait. May have to return it.

No, I'm never satisfied w/ my PDA. I went through 3 palm pilots in one year, I started w/ a classic, then a Palm III (I think it was), then a handspring visor. Then I went over to the clie line, and my first color clie to the 760 then to the nz90 The nz90 is the “pinnacle” as far as I'm concerned, but just two days ago I was listing it's drawbacks and considereing selling it on ebay and re-buying my 760c. Nope, never happy.

Dude, I really recomend you drop the Palm OS. I have alot of em here taking space, i705, m505, Visor. I really recomend pocket pc. despite the evil, it works alot better than palm.

I'm still using my Handspring Visor. Just waiting until I can afford one with a phone and camera and MP3 player all in one.
