Blogging From 30,000 Feet

WiFi at 30,000 feet seems pretty cool until you realize it’s just like WiFi at the coffee shop or WiFi at home. The boss can still track you down and you better be prepared to answer those emails piling up in your inbox before you touch down for the evening “meeting” with that client you’re entertaining. As one of the lucky few to take part in a Boeing test flight complete with Connexion wireless Internet service, Chris got a chance to interview other passengers and some of the Boeing crew. After testing the limits of the connection with Skype, Audioblog.com and video iChat sessions, along with more mundane IM and chat sessions, this goes beyond cool and steps into the realm of one fewer place where workers have an excuse to be less productive. In my opinion, the killer feature of these Connexion enabled planes isn’t WiFi, it’s the power outlet for every seat.
