Blogger Meetup in Asheville

“We are planning on going up to Asheville tomorrow morning and meeting up at Panera Bread on Hendersonville Hwy at 6pm. We'd love it if you would pass that along to any of your Asheville friends.” That message was sent to me a few minutes ago by Ponzi, so I guess this makes it all official. You know, all of it? If you're a blogger, and somewhere in the area of Asheville, then we'll see you tomorrow at 6pm. We've been in North Carolina for the past day or so, having spent yesterday driving all over hell and half of Georgia (er, North and South Carolina) with her mom – then we went to Gastonia to try fixing her father's computers. We hit Charlotte and some surrounding communities. I don't think we'll make it up to Greensboro this time, though – she says it's too far away. Tomorrow, we're doing the Biltmore Mansion – then the meetup in the evening with you. Sound good, y'all?

Oh well, maybe next time. I'm in Greenville, recently transplanted from Charleston. I didn't know any web-types came thru this neck of the woods (although the big Winer came thru NC a few months ago) and of course RTP is Red Hat country…
Hope you enjoyed the scenery (if you're not from around here).
Peace.

I live in Charlotte, the south side, Ballantyne area, ring a bell? I've been watching/reading you, Chris, for a good five years now. Long-time fan and fellow content productor/site owner (sports-central.org). Unfortunately, Asheville's a good two hours away for me.

Hi Chris,
I hope you enjoy Asheville. I have not been up that way yet since arriving in NC, but here it will be worth my while. I am in the Brasstown area and notice of the meetup is just a bit too late for me to get myself up there. I had hoped to make the trip and do a little sight seeing myself. I am dissapointed but hope to see you at Gnomedex this year. I understand the difficulty in managing your time while doing a whirlwind relatives visit :)

Doggone it, and I'm pretty close, too.
Oh well, maybe next time.
