Blinded By The Light
I'd love to repeat the phrases that spewed forth from of my mouth
when I gave the freshly-released WindowBlinds
v3.4 a run (but
I'll do my best to keep this issue family-friendly). In a word?
AWESOME. Now, I've praised Stardock's software in the past, but
they've really outdone themselves with this revision. I installed
it on my laptop to see how well it faired. You may not believe it,
but there didn't seem to be any performance sacrifice (at least,
visually) – and I'm the kinda guy who notices when things are off
by a few nanoseconds. Introducing non-essential UI elements has
traditionally dogged even faster systems. We may no longer be
slaves to that truth! When you're ready to
download it,
don't let anything stop you. When you're ready to
register
it, tell your significant other that it'll last longer than flowers.
New features include: the ability to
inverse window colors; can now color visual styles that weren't
designed to be colored; GUI controls can now paint different
versions of that control depending on the size; users can opt to
skin only the title bars on non-theme aware applications; etc.

I ran this program on my main PC running Windows XP and it gave me numerous problems, including a number of blue screens during reboot. I finally had to goto safe mode to manually uninstall all the files.
I personally would advise against installing this program, especially if you use Windows XP.

If you had problems with it, did you contact Stardocks technical support group? The response time I got from them and the quick help they gave me was one of the reasons I wound up purchasing the full application.
I've been using Windowblinds for about a year now with no problems. I love the thing. And when I upgraded to XP it really added to the visual styles.

Pretty sad to pretend your just “blogging” about a product when in fact you are getting paid to refer people to Stardocks site.

Hmmm. It seems “Actually” is right–there is a referral id on the link. Is this really a valid 'review'/opinion or is this just a way to earn a couple dollars Chris?
