Good for you, Chris Pirillo (and Ben Edelman) for raising this issue. I earn a living removing spyware from people’s computer and have always detested the adsense ads that advertise rogue anti-spyware. Some of these rogue anti-spyware are chockful of malware and people actually buy them for $49.99 and then get spyware like Zlob and Win 32 Renos, real nasties on their computer….
I have clients whose harddrives who had to be reformatted to get rid of the residual registry changes and compromised Operating Systems. One woman’s computer was semi-okay until she cancelled her subscription to the rogue anti-spyware. While uninstalling it unleashed all the malware in quarantine and installed even more and her machine ended up as a zombie in a netbot. So I applaud you!!!
