Beat Addiction with Addiction

Without naming any names from the Fatblasters list, another computer addict is lamenting how his wife can eat a meal slowly and he (like me) cannot. Here's how I've been using my computer addiction to defeat my food addiction. Yes, the computer can actually *HELP* you eat less! Your significant other might not like the idea, but I'd strongly suggest taking the dinner/lunch plate into your computer room, setting it beside you, taking a bite or two, then working for a while (which you *WILL* do for several minutes before realizing you've got a plate of food sitting next to you). Take one bite of food every time, and when you've cleared half the plate, you'll probably be full – and the food will be room temperature. It's a good trick that's worked well for me. No need for portion control, necessarily.

Amaze your friends the next time they beg you to come over and fix their computer problems. Using GoToAssist, you can instantly and easily log into their computer, allowing you to quickly diagnose those pesky errors, or even help them understand how their new program works.

Your post reminds me of when I used to get in trouble from the parents for reading at the table, when I was a kid. Are you sure your method for controlling food addiction won't get you grounded?

That's funny. That's exactly how I eat my Lean Cuisines for lunch every day. Although, when food has been cooked, then frozen, then microwaved, then cooled to room temperature, it's pretty much disgusting.
Hey, even less food for me to eat!

You really don't want to eat dinner by yourself at the computer.
Geek that you are, you don't want to take a change of spilling anything on keyboard or other hardware, nor do you want the computer room/office to become party central for six-legged & four-legged critters. You may want to consider having something to eat every 3 or 4 hours (Jorge Cruise has an interesting book called The 3-Hour Diet). If you keep insulin levels fairly steady you shouldn't have the ravenous hunger which makes you wolf down your food.
