Bank of America (BoA) Sucks

Just how stupid is Bank of America? Quite, according to Ponzi (who, at one point in her life, worked at a bank herself). Most of the CSR's responses seemed can, including the final statements: “Thank you for your time this evening, I thank you for letting me know how you feel, and I will mention our chat to my manager. It was a pleasure assisting you today. To close this chat session, please click the X in the upper right corner of this chat window. Thanks for choosing Bank of America, have a great day!” The problem is: we didn't choose Bank of America. And the solution is: we'll never choose Bank of America again. We can spend and invest our money elsewhere, I'd like to believe. Read her chat transcript – tell me if she's alone. According to a quick search, she's not:

I am not sure if you picked up on this (I am sure you have) but it looks to me to be a bot she was talking too. I can't remember the URL but I saw a pretty intelligent bot that had really good answers and was really hard to trip up.

Ponzi totally jumped all over that guy for no reason, she should have contacted someone who could do something about it. Come on, this is lame…
On another note, it is quite clear that the two of you have successfully converted to 'bitching' blogs. All you do is complain about stupid things. Where is the real content? Innovating thinking? Apparently, not here…

Nice blog.I like this.

BoA Trust Services in Providence, RI SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

bof a stole 650 dollars from me
…………
my atm card wasnt working for some reason(apparently blocked).. and i was trying to take out money from the atm machine..
i tried a few times but it didnt work..
it said invalid transaction and no money came out of the machine..
i filed a cliam and bofa is saying the the transaction is valid, and has deducted money from my account which i never took out..

I just switched to Wachovia a trusted bank. Bofa allowed a company name Westbury to take a total of $480.00 out of my account in May of 2007. I filed the paper work for the investigation. They retrieved the money, and closed the old account. Just Friday July 6, 2007 The same company just hit my account for another $350.00. The question is how did they obtain a whole new account number. Then they told me that I had to pay the overdraft charge of $124.00. The last time I paid the fees to close out the old account, and it took me a total of two month to retrieve my money F—- Bank of America.

I’ve been with BofA since the seventies, through personal, commercial and corporate accounts. Over the years they have screwed up on several occasions. Nonetheless, for the most part, they’ve made up for their mistakes. Correcting them has rarely been an easy process, but I’ve found if one climbs far enough up the company ladder eventually one reaches an intelligent (and marginally rational) being. As an aside, one of their web designers lives next door. More than once, through the years, I’ve pointed out link problems, poorly written copy and general deficiencies in their online banking site to him. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see (often times) appropriate changes made on the site. I must admit that there were times I considered changing banks. However, after thirty plus years, I’ve become familiar with this particular demon and have come to realize that they’d miss me far less than I would them. Sad, but true.

Bank of America Trust Services, Providence, RI Sucks Big Time!
I couldn’t agree more with the post above. They treat their clients like dogs. They screen calls to your Trust Officer, they must know what you want to discuss in advance. I refused to discuss my private business with the clerk answering the telephone. They got snotty when I refused to answer their questions. The worst part was my Trust Officer who could be down right mean. She seemed to feel as though I was 5 year old child who was wasting her time and I should leave all the details to her. She even shouted at me on the phone when I suggested our Trust funds could be better invested. At one point a telephone operator was explaining, or trying to explain to me how our funds were invested. She had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. If I left a message asking to have the Trust Officer call me more often than not my calls were never returned. I am of the opinion they hide from talking calls from their Clients. My Trust Officer was evasive in answering my questions and more or less dismissed me as a know nothing. She was extremely uncooperative. I was and still an furious at how I’ve been treated! It has been a horrible experience to say the least. The trust has been terribly mismanaged for years. I can only assume BoA’s Providence Trust Services in a dumping grounds for some of those who don’t fit in anywhere else within in BoA.

Ok, ok folks. So I ended up getting an account w/ finance giant this year b/c frankly, I didn’t have a bank in Hillsborough County. I enjoyed supporting the local mom-and-pop chain, Achieva Credit Union located only in Pinellas. The tellers were friendly, they knew me, and there were never any hassles.

Ever since I signed on w/ B of A, it’s been a pain in my a. When I signed up for online banking, they sent me like 15 emails. But retarded emails. We’re talking notifying me of changes in my account, which I had to log in to do in the first place, so um, thanks for notifying me of the shit I did that I had to LOG in to do, that you are now telling me what I just did. Thanks. Really. No please, keep sending them for my safety.

************************************

When they decided to shut my card down today (realize this is my only bank now and I have no cash) I signed online to check my statement. Of course my online ID didn’t work, so I had to call in. Luckily for me it’s a weekend so I don’t have to waste any cellphone minutes while I was put on hold. But let’s not just talk about the hold time, let’s talk about the asinine computer system that tells you, “You cannot select an option till you’ve heard all of them” aka “We’re going to make you stay on the phone for as long as we can.”

When I finally do reach someone, I have to identify myself with like 10 questions. Funnily enough, when I tell her my problem, I need to be transfered. So guess what? I have to identify myself all over again! The second chick who seems like she’d rather be eating toothpaste than talking to me asks so many questions that I don’t know the EXACT answer to, she basically determines that I’m not me and my funds are blocked until I can identify myself with two forms of ID in a banking center. But that can’t happen till Tuesday. B/c Monday’s a holiday. Good thing I got gas last night otherwise I’d be fucked right about now.

WTF

I didn’t lose my card. I finally got the stupid online banking thing to work and all of my charges are completely normal so this is just becoming completely inconvenient.

Then I googled Bank of America Sucks. And to my comforting surprise, there are others who’ve had problems just like me.

Yeah it’s nice to have a bank that has several locations and 3 on every block and I can use stuff for free. But wtf B of A…show me my money!
