<!--%kramer-ref-pre%-->[...] My PC started talking to me last night. Really. Thought it was my wife...it was very eerie....Heard a woman's voice say something like "hey, can you hear me....how can I fix this chair".....I just said back "huh?? Can you hear me"?? She said "yes, I can hear you"....then I said "who is this?" and heard something that wasn't in response to me. Turns out I had left a browser window on a web page when looking for sources of the youtube issues, and there was an open chat sort of window...there was a girl sitting down to the computer talking to her SO on speakerphone trying to figure out how to get the 'chat' started or something like that.... Stupid story in the end, but for about 30 seconds there I though I was going to have a coronary..... here's the ghost page that almost put an end to yours truly... http://chris.pirillo.com/2007/08/03/bandwidth-throttling-2/ [...]<!--%kramer-ref-post%-->

Hi Chris
I have AT&T fast access dsl extreme, formally bellsouth. I have been experiencing slow Internet speeds. I called tech support. they tested my line and said my bandwidth is too high and they are going to send someone out to fix it.
Can you explain to me why high bandwidth would slow my connection and what I
can do on my end to control it.

Thx Pat

Hi Chris
I would like to ask you if there is a way to limit bandwidth inside a flash application. for example in flash there is a getBytes function that return the number of bytes loaded. it is typically used in loadbars. if i run it for say 1 second i can get the current bandwidth tranfer rate but it is too high. is there a way to limit it to say 30k for instance inside flash? i watched ur Bandwidth Throttling video but its not exactly what im looking for.
i will greatly appreciate any help that u can give me.
