This article might helps.. it's the most comprehensive and easy to understand one that I came across so far.

http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/backup/clone.htm

If anybody knows how to link existing DBX files back into an existing OE folder structure in Folders.dbx, let me know (no, I cannot simply delete Folders.dbx. I don't want to reorganize 1,000 folders in multiple levels because 100 folders are not in the index (anymore))

If she still is able to access OutLook Express, she can find her DBX files under
Tools | Options | Maint | Store Folder.

If she is unable to access Outlook Express, fire up RegEdit, goto "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities" and do a search for "Store Root" which will show her the path.

Create a new Outlook Express install and copy these files into the newly created
folder (finding in the path as mentioned above).

You used to be able to copy the backup files to a new folder and set Outlook Express to use the new folder, but now it tries to copy it's files to the new folder.

If you are going to use tags, it would be helpful if you would explain how to use them. I have the same question about OE file transfer but clicking on the tags takes me to a page that is absolutely no help in finding your article.

HI I had been running windows xp, with microsoft outlook 2000...I upgraded to Vista home and now can't get my address book to export to the Vista Mail....Vista mail only accepts import of CSV, LDIF, vCard, Outlook express contacts or Works..none of which does it appear I can get the outlook 2000 to cough up (I can open the outlook 2000 but the adress book can't be found due to an "unable to find the WAB DLL file.

Can you suggest what I may do?

Thanks,
Robert
