Pirillo, I must say I am proud of you. After that trashing of the Tiger review I would never guess you'd go out less than a week later and buy one! Congrats on taking the plunge this time. The return/exchange should not be a problem. I was a Mac user then forced to be a windows user for work. Then made the switch back to Mac for good recently. Quite refreshing and a bit minty.

Well now isn't this ironic and a watershed event! Pirillo, I must say I am proud of you. Just take it back. I can't see why they wouldn't let you exchange it, especially if its only like a week or two. I just got a Mac for work, my first.. an older 1GHz Powerbook with 512MB of RAM.. and the thing works better than my P4 3.4GHz with a gig of RAM. Go figure.
Be careful.. you may just switch permanently. Truthfully.. 80% of my computing is now on the Mac. :P

I'll get a better look at longhorn and then compare.
Apple has done a nice job with tiger, even though it's more hype than sunstance, it's nicely done.

I'm not in the market for a new computer, but I will be next year,<br

It tracks the product updates, and predicts (fairly accurately) when a certain model is reaching it's end.
I'm a bit suprised to read that you got a Mac, after reading your flame of the Tiger review you posted on Thursday. Maybe you figured having all those great features built into the OS is better than adding idividual 3rd party apps to XP?
Regardless, I'm glad you kept an open mind. I hope you enjoy the iMac.

I have been a Microsoft user for my entire technical career but learned to program on an Apple II+ and have always had a soft spot for Apple. I am trying to figure out how to be both a Apple and Microsoft user at the same time and failing. I have a Tablet PC and love the form factor. If Apple had a Tablet like device I would have made the switch some time ago.
Are you planning on using the new Mac as your primary computer?

Interesting to see someone else have the same problem (drool over a Mac). I am sitting in a Starbucks right now trying to decide which Mac to get and having trouble.<br

Run, don't walk back to the Apple store before all those machines have been snapped up (subject to availability). Tiger rocks and spotlight (finds text inside a PDF, for example) is just the beginning. Enjoy.

Unless the cats or dogs have drooled, scratched, or urinated over the iMac, shouldn't be a problem to exchange it.<br

Even if your mega informed. Your always going to end up finding something better and greater has come out a few weeks or months after your recent purchase.
Orange Julius - that brings back some memories. Haven't had one of those since I was a child. The mall in Decatur, IL had an Orange Julius for a few years. Then it closed. Don't think my area has one near by. Looking at their website confirms I am correct. Might have to go out of my way to get one in Seattle later this year.

Buyers remorse. Doesn't this always happen with technology? I had always been wondering why you still have the imac screen shot when you sold it who knows how long ago.
But hey, contrats on the new mac, and I hope you can work something out so you can have the upgraded goodies.
