The AT2020 is an amazing microphone, brilliant for an overhead for drums, for vocals and for basic spoken word/etc.
I have a regular XLR one that I route through my firewire mixer (because it requires phantom power) so it’s cool to see they have a USB version.
Very good clarity, sensitivity and quality and pretty damn affordable.

I am in a band with guitars, a bass, a drummer, and a singer. We do not need the best quality recording equipment, but we do need at least demo quality recording. I am seriously considering buying this mic for my guitar. If any one knows if this mic will record an amp at decent quality, can you please drop me a line? Thank you.

If you have a Mic Preamp or Mixing board, the XLR version of the AT2020 is available for even less than the USB version and is of the same quality. I use the XLR version all the time.

I use this microphone everyday for recording vocals .
Pros:
1- plug it in, it’s ready to go. User friendly
2- sturdy. Built like a tank
3- attractive when the blue light is glowing
4- very nice performance. For the price you will be 100% satisfied
Cons:
1)stand is weak and positioning mic can be awkward
2) I use a pc and the mic is so sensitive that I basically have to turn the input volume down to somewhere between 1 and 2 on the control panel. This was probably the biggest adjustment
Durability – 9/10
Value – 10/10
Sound – 8/10
Price paid $120
Highly recommended. I was worried about USB microphone quality. But this mic is fantastic. I also tried the Blue Snowball but didn’t really give it a fair shot since the at2020usb was so satisfactory. For the record, the snowball is cool to look at, has a better stand, but feels plastic-y to the touch. By appearance the 2020usb is a more serious microphone but I’ll probably give the snowball another shot at some point
