Look at the cancer rates for China compared to aspartame countries.

May not be related but something is causing China to have one fourth of some cancers as the rest of the world.

I had a crippling attack of phlebitis in May 2007. After about a month, my legs were fine, but I continued to suffer from excruciating hip pain – especially at the start of the day, and had trouble with the stairs. I read an article on Aspartame, and as a heavy consumer of diet Cola, I went cold turkey immediately. The effects were immediate. Within 24 hours my pain had gone. It is still gone. Twice in the past couple of months I have had some twinges; I suspect I have consumed Aspartame accidentally.

I am very annoyed to read articles exonerating this vile poison. The latest: http://www.aspartame.info/aspartame_news.html boasts how it had no ill effects on a list of groups (with the notable absence of MS sufferers!)

This has always been unproven Bull S…!! I am a retired doctor and this is urban legend!!! just like the Monilia Syndrome that these incompetent, people and doctors tried to push, without any documentation or evidence!

After using Aspartame, heavily, in college for several years. I was developing symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, it was only on after overhearing a co worker tell someone else that a friend of hers couldn’t east anything with Nutra Sweet in it that I discovered Aspartame was the cause. Within a week of kicking the stuff my symptoms were disappearing, but it took almost a year to get back to normal.

I sincerely hope there were no long term effects of it, but it’s scary what the FDA lets slip through the cracks. My advice If you don’t have to use the chemicals, its always better to use the natural stuff. All things in moderation of course, that is the hard part.

I too agree that your list is becoming less and less relevant. As a scientist I find it disgusting when people scaremonger without any basis in scientific fact.

I refuse to be part of your soapbox anymore – and like other readers, will be unsubscribing from your list. I have been subscribed now for around a decade.

Maybe one of the things you should put in your next book about internet mailing lists is “stick to the topic, and don’t promote beliefs as fact.”

While clearly, our government has been for sale to the highest bidder for some time, it certainly has attained a level not seen before under our current administration. When we see that government studies are consistently censored and modified to meet a political agenda, our government is no longer credible.
