Granted he isn't a very high up executive but he does control several refineries, he told me that I need to help him over the next couple days to get as much gas as we can get our hands on, apparently there will be a gas shortage soon (his friends at other refineries have the same problem), stocking up will be the only way to have gas when the stations run out. Lines will get much longer and eventually the stations will go out of business leaving everyone without gas

My father works at a major gas company. Right now we have been eating out less, driving less, buying fewer gadgets. How much longer can we take $60 fill ups. Others must be doing the same and it’s got be hurting the economy.

I’m worried if there isn’t a return to cheaper fuel soon, we will keep on cutting back spending on non-essentials even further. We've pretty much cut how much we drive as much as we already could, and we're fortunate because at the moment, we live in the city where they both work. It's concerned me enough that I've decided that I won't be able to buy any car, much less my dream one for my birthday this year (since I'm now finally old enough to drive). And that I'm going to be gettinga scooter and a bicycle to get around and go job-hunting in.I already know that this affects everything. The gas prices affect the prices of everything else. Especially food, and the cost for businesses to stay running when many of their employees can't afford to get to work anymore.
I know there are a few other crisis' going around which affect the economy, which in turn affects the rest of us who're feeling the affects of it all.So yeah, it worries me. Not enough to make me scream or cry yet. But my family's been used to living frugal because we've never been that well off financially. We're farm folk in our core. I'm sure, somehow, we'll come out fairly decent. The irony of this is, we'd never been able to land somewhat decently back when the economy was fine and gas was only a dollar and a few cents a gallon. But somehow now that the whole country is hit by this...chaos, this insanity which makes living hard for everybody, we've hope again. It's mostly everyone else that I worry about, these days.

It worries me because my parents still own cars and go to work.<br

Especially for those who like me are just now trying to get through college and get a good footing on their own. Rent is going up (400-500 dollars per month for a one bedroom where I'm looking), Heating bills have gone up, food has gone up, clothing has gone up, EVERYTHING has gone up.Now you take into account the low income I have and the circumstances of going to college and coming from a ... not rich... family and its troubling to look at. I know that next year I will be attending school full time, working a work-study job, and another job at a ironically a gas station and that is just BARELY enough to get by, leaving about 30 dollars to spare... not even a tank of gas.Something definitely needs to change as this country slowly declines to a country for the privileged not a country for all.

The rising cost of EVERYTHING not just gas hurts. I went to a private high school 20 miles away every single day of the week, so not only was gas high, but we actually had to pay tuition and it was $5000 a year, plus I have a younger sister. Now that I'm going off to college, how am I going to pay for all that gas? Or find a car that's cheap enough and gets enough MPGs that someone else hasn't already bought up? It's a major headache, that's what it is.

Am I worried? You bet!
