Well, I definately am not organized! You should see my desk! It’s extremely messy and sometimes hard to get to the mouse, lol. Yeah, I thought the responces you got were very interesting! I love your blog, so keep posting, and have a good day!

This app. is soo cool.. esp while im studying at the moment, simple as well “right click evernote” preti much all my friends are using this now thanks to me ;p then thanks to CHris for showing us.

MY old ways were saving a complete webpage, then upload it to my geocities web host service, so then i could pretty much access it anywhere, aslong as i got connection.

I like Microsoft Office OneNote 2007. I find the clipper utility especially useful. For example, while the utility is running, pressing Windows Key + S allows you to take and instant screenshort of any portion of the screen. As a student, I take notes frequently, and have found that the best solution for me is using software such as OneNote or Windows Journal on a tablet PC. (I love Windows Journal, because I also love legal pads!)

Mac: Notebook for certain ongoing projects. Yojimbo for casual clipping and collecting and it syncs with .Mac as well.

I take notes using good old Word. Can’t think of anything more efficient for myself. I also use the “Notes” in Outlook for pasting text from websites. When out and about without a notebook … pen and paper does the job as well.

I really like *Awesome Highlighter* for highlighting and saving tidbits from web pages and then saving them or twittering them for others to see. Work surprisingly well. There is a bookmarklette and extension for Firefox.

I love the Dashboard-Widget “Organized” from iSlayer.com
It’s free, and has a great interface. It combines the To-Do functions of iCal, Mail, the calender and so on.
And since it will send any information you put in there to iCal, it will also sync nice with your iPod or iPhone.

WOW! I am amazed at the responses that completely missed the real difference in using Evernote. You don’t have to spend any time tagging or labeling or categorizing anything!! And for those of us that are not dealing with 100′s but rather 1,000′s or 10,000′s of notes and bits of information the time that it takes to do this is considerable.

The promise of Evernote (and the killer feature) is the ability to just “chunk it in Evernote” and know that everything is searchable and thereby RETRIEVABLE in the future with no further action on the part of the user. No other program offers this capability, which puts Evernote in a class by itself.

I keep most of my data organized with Zotero. All the information I gather is safely stored in my hard drive.

Because of Chris’ recommendation, I have started using Evernote. Evernote is cool because it allows me to view my notes from any computer connected to the internet.
