Just shows how lucky most of the Asians are when it comes to shopping during Christmas holidays. I was in Manila last week and the weather is excellent. Certainly no snow, so all the shopping malls are packed!

Growing up in Los Angeles, if "flakes" were even spotted it was time to break out the camera and stare in dumbfounded wonder.

Here on the Front Range (halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs) we're supposed to start getting some more snow later this afternoon, to add to what's already on the ground. It's currently 21 degrees and sunny.

As long as we don't get the 5-6 feet we got in '06, I'll be happy!

I am in New Hope MN. enjoying a white Christmas. The roads are a mess, but mostly because people forget how to drive in this weather. There have been some deaths on the roadway which is sad. Slow down people, Santa will still make it to your house.

First the ice/rain storm on December 11 which touched every New Hampshire resident and then some. About 450 Thousand+ without power (NH population is just over 1 million). Some, in NH, for 2 days and most for 3-5 days and thousands still without power at this time.

This is not to mention the water damage from flooded basements, and subsequent mold infestations that will take thousands of $$$ to kill and then rebuild.

It could be worse. If FEMA doesn't kick in for this personal emergency our savings (thank goodness we have that) will be wiped out. Not to mention the extras we all had to shell out bucks for to keep warm, proved food and water and carry on daily. If your work place had backup power or power restored it was a huge break to go to work.

Then the white Christmas on top of that. Basically snowed for 2 days about a week later. 12+ inches. White yes. For now. It will be white for Christmas. The best part is I still have my home, my family, my health, and my job. I am thankful for all of that.

Have a Happy Holiday everyone. Any season alive and well is a happy season. Be thankful daily for what you have.

I'm from the Milwaukee area, but I attend the university in Minnesota and it's ridiculously cold! Coming home, I had to plan out carefully when I could come home and avoid all of the snow storms. But just as a precaution, I bought a shovel and some kitty litter for my car just in case I ended up in the median of I 90 or I 94. The weather is ridiculous this year and I love it!

Officially: I'm a bit tired of the snow (Bellevue and we have over a foot for certain). Unofficially and for my kids sake: White Christmas for a change. I'm looking forward to the warm up. Oh, and here's a bit of telling news, the military has told its people to stay home however Boeing is operating on normal schedule and requiring all its employees to report to work. What a warm and fuzzy feeling Boeing is sending (snarky I know but my buy is second shift, coming home when all this is ice and frozen solid).

Over 2 feet of new powder on a 4 inch base here in the Adirondacks of NY...wonderfully beautiful..and perfect temperature for playing in the stuff... about 25 degrees F during the day. Very white Christmas for us!!! (It is very funny watching my english bulldogs jump through the stuff...they actually enjoy it until they get too exhausted to keep going...then they sneak behind me and try to get a ride on the back of my cross country skiis!!)

Well, since I'm from Iowa (I had no idea you where until now!), yes, we are having a very white Christmas.

It's also 8 Degrees below Zero Fahrenheit. :(

Well, by living here in Finland (60 degrees north of the equator, same as south Alaska) you'd think that we got snow. But we don't. A bit weird, but that's the way it is. Last year we didn't get snow for Christmas either. We usually get a bit of snow in November, that melts away after a week. And then we get some snow in January as well, but not for Christmas.
Still a couple of days left until Christmas, so I hope snow comes (altough the weather forecasts don't look good).
Until then I wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Being from Omaha, Nebraska but now living in the Portland area is crazy how just a foot of snow means you're "snowed in". If Seattle was bad at first, now the Portland area is just as bad if not worse. Power was out for about 9 hours today, and my relatives in Seattle area can't make it down for Christmas because of the weather, but I sure bet my uncle's getting lots of business at his car repair business! It could be a tad dangerous for them living in the middle of a forest though! I guess they just don't know how to handle snow in the Pacific Northwest like they do in the midwest!
