Wow … Here I am looking for a new host because my site keeps going down, and I try Evolution Studios and guess what? There site is down!

We are a small interactive agency with 4 very large fortune 100 clients. They will simply not sit still for even the slightest hiccup. If you want guaranteed peace of mind, RACKSPACE is the answer. They are a little more expensive but I can honestly say there has NEVER been an issue and their support is so good you sometimes get off the phone shaking your head in disbelief that that type of personal customer care still exists. I have used Verio, CARI and a few others anf they are ok but if your webhosting is mission critical and you want to sleep at night, I can’t recommend Rackspace enough. Do a google search on reviews and you will see. More money but as close to perfect as a host could be. I look at it this way. Sure I can save a few bucks, but one screwup could risk an account and it’s simply not worth the gamble. I have no connection to them at all, just a little customer in the scheme if things, but they are the best.

Excellent, I have been looking at Blue Host. Now I can sign up for that tomorrow.

A little bit about GoDaddy. Personally, I had some issues with Google traffic. At the time I was running an Anime blog with PR4. However, after the first day of the service I never got Google traffic again. I switched from Host Gator after getting booted for a TOS violation. I don’t think that is typical though. Because my blog would be getting around 7-9k unique visitors from Google. So I am assuming I was capped because my blog was a hardware leech. I should have been on dedicated hosting, but I couldn’t afford it.

I mean no disrespect to Host Gator or GoDaddy. They are both fantastic hosts; I just messed up. GoDaddy in my opinion is a step above Yahoo!, but lacks because it does not use cPanel. They use a custom Java script dashboard, and it really lags at times.

I have been using them for the better part of 2 years and no problems. Unlimited Domains, Ditto emails and storage, 3 terabytes monthly bandwidth, and best of all REALLLL 24/7 365 non-outsourced (normal wait time two minutes) tech support.

As far as hosting goes for me, I have my own dedicated server that is hosted in a data center in texas. I am sure you dont need to quite go that far but I have a lot of Streaming Media and multiple IPs that you simply just cant do with a normal hosting company. Its a heck of a lot more expencive. But think of it this way. You basicly bought another computer that isnt physically at your house. Mine has a quad core processor and 4 gigs of ram, and a 25mbp/s connection. Of course its expencive (about $300 a month) but it all depends on what type of hosting you need.

I host four different websites on 3IX and they’ve been great for the past three years.

And only $1 a month (lowest plan 10GB) to boot (plus 1st month free if you sign up for a year). That plus a domain name form GoDaddy (with a coupon) and it only costs me about $15 a YEAR for each site!

And I’ve only had to use their technical support once and they were quick to respond.

Recommended to a lot of my friends too!

At the moment for my sites I use 3iX which has $1 month hosting for simple needs. It comes with 20 emails, 10GB storage and I can't remember how much bandwidth it comes with. Check out the website 3iX.

I swear by Bluehost. They are absolutely phenomenal, and their support is out of this world. When I call, I get a person who actually SOLVES my problem on the first call. Couldn’t be happier with their price, quality and service.

I have been with Hostnine (hostnine.com) for well over a year now. I have their reseller package ($19.95/month)which offers unlimited domain names.

In 17 or so months that they’ve been hosting my sites, I can only think of 2 times that the server was down. Both of these times they were back up in under an hour. I don’t know if this is good or bad but it’s worked for me.

I have been using 1and1.com as a webhost for several years now. They are a pretty big company and questions sent via email to support have always been answered in was less than 8 hours.

Just over 2 years ago I had some major problems with my web host. It seemed like the domain was down every other day and when I would call to let them know I would get the run around! Anyway I found a company called BlueHost.com at http://www.bluehost.com. and I have been with them ever since. I have recommended at least 3 other people to them and all are now with Bluehost. The hosting is relatively inexpensive at $6.95 a month w/ 2yr plan but it gives you so much power with the cPanel Control panel which allows you to auto-install a ton of different application such as Joomla, WordPress, Drupal and a ton of others using Fantastico Deluxe and Simple Scripts. I also allows you to manage your sites, domains, email stats and all kinds of other stuff that at least my other hosting company didn’t have and had no clue about! Their costumer service has been great when I have needed to call them AND I have never had any downtime for the sites that I have hosted with them! I just can’t say enough good about them.

I’m kind of in a similar situation with web hosting. In my beginning trial at putting up a site I had gone with Yahoo’s Geocities which at the time was just fine. After they merged over to Yahoo Small Business it’s not the strength I need. I’ve investigated Godaddy since I also like the ability to manage domains in one place. Still looking
