My tip to add here would be to try to have someone teach about the new technology, before you go out and buy something new to be updated with the lastest stuff. I've converted many to the realm of modern technology (dial-up to cable, wired to wireless, standard to high definition, etc...). In my experience, even after convincing them to switch to better technology, they are still skeptical before they make the switch. Most are simply afraid of the change from something familiar to something foreign. However, once they first load a web page from a cable modem, experience life without the hassle of wires, or see the actual difference between standard and high definition, they never question their suspicions again. I've always seen this kind of progression be for the betterment of the synergy between society and the presence of the information age. To me, this is just more proof that technology is something to be embraced. In an era of rapidly surfacing technologies, one would be hard pressed to find reasons not to embrace these advancements.

My grandparents just recently upgraded to high speed but they dont use there computer much. From what i remember they use to have an old computer that could barely run dial up.
