I finally decided to see if I could lower my electric bill and I bought LED lightbulbs to replace my old incandescent bulbs. Yes! My electric bill is much lower! Also, I found a great website that I would recommend enthusiastically. They had good service (good phone and email support), excellent FAQs so I knew what I needed, very competitive prices, and their shipping was fast and the LEDs were just as advertised. A pleasure to deal with!

Yes, I believe LED's are the "Light of Tomorrow". They last just as long as a persons life! LED's are also very bright for the amount of electricity the use. I see very close in the near future more and more objects will have LED's, maybe even normal house lighting!

A lot of theatrical companies are starting to use LED lights more and more now. While they are almot a thousand dollars for just one light, there are advantages to those over the conventional Ellipsodal Reflector Spotlights (Leekos) and Freshnel lights that are used a lot on stages.

1. While they cost more, the lights have a lifespan of 30-35 YEARS before anything needs to be done.

2. You don't need to buy gels (colored pieces of plastic that color the stage. These are good for one light and one color, where as the LED lights have almost any color in the pallet, and most can change on the fly.

Now, Gels dont cost a lot, but you add up the cost of theatrical bulbs, which are generally going to pay around $20 per bulb. If you are extremly unlucky, you may have to buy a ton of a paticular type of bulb cor each show produced, which if you just buy 5 bulbs, that is around $100. Ten times for that, and the led light has payed for itself.. and the year isn't over.

One drawback to LED bulbs is that they are not that great for front lighting stages, as they tend to get washed out over that great of a distance. So no matter how good they make the LED lights, the standard theatrical lights will always still be there in theatres.

don't like the look of LED on camera they looked flat and un natural. In the coming year they will get better but right now I am just converting to mini florescent lights, they run cool,, use 1/6 the power and still look natural since they have a coating on them.

I Think So. Almost All Of My Smaller Lights Are LEDs. Even One Of My Floor Lamps Are LED. I Love Them. I think that one thing that needs to improve is some that are less bright! Thats Kinda Sad 'Cause Thats What There Made For But Sometimes I Think They Are Just Too Bright!

Considering that other LED light bulbs cost about the same, this is not bad. And you can get more use out of this bulb due to the changeable colors and light levels. I can think of a theatre enthusiast that might be interested in using bulbs like these for his practice theatre stage.

LEDs are indeed the way of the future. O-LEDs are supposed to be very nice. As soon as the prices are about what Compact Florescent are i am going LED all the way and the light just looks better then what florescent can put out

LEDs are the light bulbs of *today*. About half the bulbs I use in my house now are LEDs.

My favorite is the "Suns Dusk LED Accent Light". It's about 2 watts. I've put these bulbs in:

* Every hallway light fixture -- it's all you need!

* A two-bulb lamp that I use as a first floor night light. It's on a timer so it automatically turns on at dusk and off at dawn.

* A living room hanging lamp. Provides enough soft light to move around the living room and to watch TV. I have one or two reading lamps with fluorescent bulbs for when I want to read.

* My dining room chandelier. It's a style like the late 1800s, not a candle fixture. The fixture had seven bulbs. So I've gone from 280w incandescent to 91 fluorescent to 14w with LED!! And the lighting is perfect for dining. Soft, not bright and complimentary to candlelight on the table. Almost like a lamp from late 1800s, which is when the house was built.

The best price I found on this bulb (at the time) was from JD Power and Lighting on eBay at: http://tinyurl.com/5zg9jf
I was able to order bulk at discount. Service was good.

I ordered other bulbs from them which I use for reading and ambient lights in other areas of the house. I have only one incandescent bulb in the whole place. FTW!
