Apple *IS* Overpriced
According to today's Apple Store, you can get a LaCie d2 FireWire Drive at a pretty good price. Of course, it also says: “Get TONS of storage (120MB).” Now, I don't wanna pee in anybody's Cheerios here, but… that ain't a whole lot. If the device came in a nice floral or polka-dot pattern, then at least I could forgive the exorbitant price. And in case they decide to change it on me, I've saved a copy of the screen. Please verify my findings ASAP.

Where was the screenshot taken? i Can't seem to find an identical page.
However, I was able to find the product (at least, it looked the same) on their storage store – http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/242/wo/f406d2kOxWlnjPyBLr3/0.3.0.3.27.7.0.CoverPageLeftAccessoriesPromo.1.1.0.3.10.11.3.1.1.0 . It looks like there was a typo, error, or otherwise ambiguous errata.

And, apologies to everyone about the unfortunately long URL. I wasn't aware if this weblog commenting system has HTML recognition turned on or off.

I went to the Apple Store page and it's still showing $269.00 for 120MB. Did you click on the link? It shows 120GB. If it's anything like where I work, two different people were working on each page. Probably a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. :-)

They must be making up for those 125 GHz Power Macs they were selling yesterday.

Yup…..stupid typo…..when you click on the firewire drive the link shows it to be 120 GB……that seems like a more resonable price, for that much storage and being a firewire drive.

125GHz Power Mac's – I knew technology was advancing quickly, but damn! :)
LaCie's site has the d2 at “up to 160GB.” That graphic should've been changed by now – there's no reason it should have gone unnoticed for this long (at least by anyone with control over the site.) Nothing like attention to detail!

I wub little typo quirks like that. It's the bloopers of the internet. That was a 120GB drive, looks like the webmaster did a little 'uh-oh' on that graphic. Plus, they haven't switched it over yet. Oh well…
