Apple Computer – Live Mac Pro Unboxing

Yes, finally my Mac Pro is here! I know, watching me cut open a box isn’t very exciting to you. However, it was quite exciting to me!
The first thing I pulled out of the box is the wireless keyboard I ordered. I can’t get over how tiny and thin it is! I also have the wireless Mighty Mouse. Some people don’t really like it, but I do. I’m not sure if I’ll use it as my primary mouse. I’m still a Microsoft Mouse kind of guy. Ohhhh. Apple sent me the batteries for the mouse and keyboard. It figures that I received my Mac Pro with OS X Version 10.5.1 on the same day that 10.5.2 was released. Isn’t that just the luck? Yes… I just sniffed the styrofoam that covered up the Mac. What do you expect? I’ve waited for this day for a LONG time.
And… ta-daaaaaaaaaa! After grabbing the handles on the sides of the machine, and pulling it out of the box with some fanfare… the Mac Pro is on my desk! That is one sexy looking machine, for sure. Everyone on the private Ventrilo server even has to agree. It’s beautiful! We actually hit 1100 viewers during this unboxing! How amazing is that? Thank you to everyone for joining me for this unboxing.
Now that we’ve opened up Big Mac to take a look, we’re going to close this video down and move on. I’ll be installing more RAM tonight, the new (third) hard drive, and firing this baby up! Stay tuned.

I love how you mentioned that they gave you batteries for the mouse and keyboard. It’s the small things that count, i was just as excited when i pulled my Macbook Pro out of the box and it already had a full battery.

Congrats on your new Mac! Just got one myself back in December. I love the wireless keyboard, even without the number keypad. As for the wireless Mighty Mouse, if you find it’s not speedy enough, even with the maximum settings, go looking for this little program called Steermouse. It’ll solve that problem right away. Enjoy your new Mac!!!!

Congrats on the new box.
The email mentioned that you’re quickly becoming a Mac household.
It’s ok, Chris, we still like you. You’ll still be able to use decent apps, now that Macs are linux-certified.
The only question that remains is what you’ll do what all that extra time you have, now that you’re single-clicking :)
Enjoy

And c’mon Chris, more portable you say? What? You’re going to take your Mac on an airplane, it has to be portable? Get real. I’m typing on a keyboard since the late seventies, anyone will tell you that a heavier keyboard and slighty bigger one too is much more fun to work on.

IT doesn’t make sense to say that the wireless keyboard is small for your hands (I’m commenting on one of those scrolly by chats) because the keys and distance between the keys are EXACTLY the same as full-sized keyboard. If you don’t believe me, examine it yourself. The reason gaps between keys are possible in the Wireless keyboard is because in regular keyboards, the edges of the keys flare out and are not actually touched by the fingers.

Could someone answer this question?
Can the Mac Pro run SLI, because some people say you can with a SLI ribbon cable for OS X, and some say you can’t.
Whats going on?
