Plenty of adventuring to do on shore excursions. The best part is once you get to Anchorage (Seward) you're free of the boat and who says you have to fly home? Go explore Denali. One thing that bothers me, though, is the many comments about 'white hairs, geriatrics, etc., etc.'. Come on people, I bet I have more fun more often than most younger people, and it isn't all that much different than what you would consider 'fun'. Sheesh! Cut me a break, will ya? I also am very knowlegeable about all things pertaining to computers. We have 6 computers in our house, and we use them all, employing all types of OS's. I'm from "down-under", and it's always been my dream to see Alaska. One thing I recommend is that you now get your hands on a copy of James A. Michener's great book, "Alaska". It's a blend of fact & fiction covering the entire history of Alaska from prehistoric to modern day times. Full of adventure, wildlife stories & human adversity (plus great descriptions of the beauty of the place), it is what instilled in me the desire to go there sometime in my lifetime.
