Addicted to Comics

I couldn’t find proper sponsorship for bLaugh – and because of that, I haven’t been able to do a lot of things I had wanted to do with it. Brad is such an amazing artist, and without financial support – the comic’s publishing schedule relies largely on Brad’s time. We have close to 10,000 subscribers for it, so… we’re just trying to figure out where to go from here.

What attracts people to comics – on the Web, or otherwise? Is it the writing? Is it the artistry? Is it a perceived value? Is it a combination of all these things, or something else entirely? Is it timeliness, is it relevancy, is it… what?

Maybe it’s different for everyone.

One thing’s for sure – comic strips aren’t going away. I’m gonna continue to love ‘em, I’m gonna continue to embed ‘em, I’m gonna continue to write ‘em, I’m gonna continue to do something with ‘em.

The Real Reason Behind Digg's Bury Brigade

Now, that’s funny. :) I’m not so sure about these others…

You know, I hate to say it, but you kinda look like you’re grabbing for your crutch in that last one.

Now please don’t ask me why I’m looking at comic-Chris’ crutch…

Oh the blue wife of deth I can understand, but rebooting her will require a specialized device that modern PCs are lacking. That is a floppy disk! Err wait you can go to a doctor for pills for wife UP keep. LOL

Keep the comics coming. Love em!

Those are absolutely hilarious! It is the elements of humor and artistry that I find so amusing in comics, and these are great!

I like the last one. I use Linux as a primary solution. Got it on my PC Eee PC and PS4

BTW I meant PS3. Crammed keyboards.

hahaha! funny chris, my friend actually makes comics and gives them out to people. You should make comics too, i think they would be funny too.

The first thing im attracted to is, by far, the drawing. If that doesnt call my atention then I usually dont read it. Its pretty hard for me to be staring at something i dont like while reading… which is also bad cause there are plenty of bad drawings that have good texts.
Anyway, I like the last one. Predictable, but always funny.

I think that comics are very unappreciated and I wish that more people would take the time to pay attention to them. It is a shame that people can’t take 5 minutes out of there day and maybe get a good laugh from the newspaper. I guess that people don’t care.

Comics were the first “books” that I was able to read by myself and then say that I read a book. Well, there was no Mickey Mouse in East Germany (which would also not be the best comic for a second grader to read as an exercise). I started reading the East German comic books called “Mosaik”. I started collecting them since I was second grade and able to read them fluently.

The “Mosaik” comics started in 1955. I have today ALL issues, from 1955 to 2008. I destroy their monetary collectors value though, by letting the single issues bind together by a professional book binder to books with linen covers and engraved letters that show the issue numbers and years of the issues that make up each book. I want to keep the book for myself and one day inherit them to my children (when I get any). Since the value is reduced significantly because of the binding, will I and also the heir of the collection think twice about selling it. hehe

There exists a Wiki for Mosaiki, but it’s in German, sorry
http://mosapedia.de

In the 1980s did East Germany print and export 42 issues of the comic in English for India, there called Mosaic (doh). I also saw english language print versions of some of the Mosaik “re-print” books, which contain several issues that make up a story and had their own titile, just for the re-print book.
