Sleipnir (a Japanese tabbed browser with an English version) is really very good, also.
It is freeware, also.
It's on the same level as MyIE2 and NetCaptor, IMHO.

I tried MyIE2 but did not like it. I prefer AvantBrowser which is more user-friendly.

I thought you wanted to be free of the IE! Why are you exploring these 'addons'? What you really want is a whole new browser, for which I would suggest Mozilla Firebird or Mozilla.

I agree with Technodaddy above. I've been an avid user of Netcaptor for a few years now and found out recently that it was the first 'tabbed' browser.
Only when Opera copied the effect did Adam Stiles (the creator of Netcaptor) implement Opera's gesture navigation.
I took a look at MyIE2 and it looks similar to Netcaptor, however after giving it a test run I wasn't impressed.

I think it's great that so many browser options are available to us, and we get to choose which one that suit us best. I use Mozilla myself coz its the one that works smoothly for me, but hey, to each his own. Some still prefer IE, & third parties have dressed it up for the user's benefit (at least we hope).
Also I noticed some web features/effects can only work with IE, like in this blog, you can only see Chris' handwriting font with IE. A bit insignificant, but still a missed feature on other browsers as well. :) Maybe one of the reasons why many still stick with it, apart from its familiarity.

MyIE2 is simply the best IE shell out there; I don't think it's a real debate if you seriously try each of them out.
MyIE2 is NOT spyware; make sure you just download MyIE2 and not UCMore and AIRoboform, etc.
The only thing that I will use besides MyIE2 for browsing is Opera 7.20 Beta for its similar features and neat mail client built in for added effect.
MyIE2 is a little better for my taste simply because it renders virtually everything as was intended by the author.
Like it or not, MS/IE rules the world right now with respect to webpage rendering. Standards are not a real issue for end-users, unfortunatley.

MyIE2 and popups: MyIE2 is still under development and the popup blocker gets better each time. As it is now, the Popup blocker and Content filter do a great job (and each has a white list). Thae Auto Popup blocker is also one of the best I have used.
MyIE2 and Spyware. MyIE2 is not spyware. However, there is a plugin for UCMore, which I recommend everyone NOT to use.
As Chris said in the Lockergnome Daily, MyIE2 is the best IE based browser, it has the best support forum and also is activly being developped and improved.

Chris, Try http://www.netcaptor.com/ for a spin. NetCaptor is the best addon to IE I've seen yet. Pretty much everything the rest do, plus ad and url blocking… It's not free, but worth it.

Greg, i totally agree Avant Browser is the best i hate Mozilla and everything else, the only thing that agrees with me is Avant Browser. I wanna know why chris dismissed it so quickly
