Until about 2 years ago I would never give any time for watching tv series. I saw Lost advertised and I decided to give it a go. 3 seasons later and I am completely hooked. Once I caught up with America I needed more series, more things to watch!!!! Along came Prison break and I got hooked on this too. Started watching Heroes last week and I am upto episode 14. I absolutely love LOST but HEROES is fantastic.I have avoided 24 (even though most people I know love it) but I am saving it for when Heroes, Lost and Prison Break end. It will be a sad day when these finish.

I went though TiVO tonight and cancelled about 10 season passes. If I get three shows behind, am I really that interested in seeing it?

I don’t know why I watch “Stone Undercover”. I don’t want to tell you it’s a great TV show, because it’s not, but somehow, I never finding myself getting behind on them.

“Ace of Cakes” is curiously compelling in a “slow down to gawk at the traffic accident” kind of way.

And although I cancelled all those other season passes, I added “Match Game”. Yeah, reruns from the 1970s – but it’s still funny, and unlike most shows, it doesn’t ruin things if you watch 5 minutes now, 15 minutes later today, the final 10 minutes tomorrow.

Mostly, I let TiVO pick out movies on AMC, TMC, FMC, IFC, etc. I’ve had TiVO long enough that it rarely picks out a movie I don’t like.

I have to chime in with “Heroes” as well!

Glaring omission from your list.

I don’t have much time for TV, either. It’s the only one I watch “live.” If I didn’t have class on Monday night, I would actually watch it live, commercials and all. As it is, we TiVo and start watching it as soon as I get home.

How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Heroes are near the top of my “regular watching” list, along with some of your mentions.

I’d also consider checking into Dexter (season 1 just finished) on Showtime for something heavier but very intriguing. Also check out any of FX’s offerings for something completely different. The Shield, Nip/Tuck, and Rescue Me are far from your standard cable shows and all bring something completely different to the table.

Just wanna say to the guy who is badmouthing 24, that it should be fairly obvious with the older seasons that jack stars in all of them. he is basically the spine of the whole series. it revolves around him. so the obvious part is that whatever happens he will always manage to somehow get himself out of any situation. u might say, yeah so its lame. we know what’s gonna happen. well all i have to say is that if u want a reality show just keep watching shows like big brother. that’s it for you.
I am tired of people pointing out flaws in each show. anybody with lots of time on their hands like myself will want to sit down and watch almost any tv even if its a bit predictable. I started from square one.
24 is now in its sixth season and from what i saw on the adverts when i was starting out, ( kiefer sutherland) stars in the sixth season as well as the first. so i was watching the show under the impression that jack will get himself out of any situation, no matter what. and even so. if u commit urself to the other great aspects of the show, like tha action and the unpredictability and the twists, there’s really not a lot more u can ask for in a show. but i have to agree with someone else who said its better to wait for a season to end and then watch it rather than wait once a week because then u easily get out of the mood and one hour believe me is just enough to get you back in the mood again every week, but by then the episode is finished. watch it all to gether and wait for the big cliffhangers at the end of almost every season. i guarantee u will get the full enjoyment that way. And please. we are talking about TV here. OK?
Television. People want entertainment. we don’t care if he’s wounded one hour and the next hour he forgetsabout it. just follow tha fucking story and forget about minor details. i would recommend 24 strongly as the best series out there.

If anybody could explain to me why CSI is better than NCIS then please give me a reason to watch it because so far i’m not really impressed by CSI. Law and order does not compare to either CSI or NCIS. Please someone give me a reason to start watching CSI.

Yep to Heroes. Heroes actually progresses each week, unlike LOST (although I will still watch Lost regardless…that’s just how i roll).

But, really, how can you not be watching The Office? Seriously.

Lost & 24 are highly overrated.

24 recycles the same basic plot every season. Terrorists’ with weapons threatening the US, usually biological or nuclear AND Jack stops them in a day. There I just saved you 3 or 4 seasons worth of watching.

Lost, use to be good but, got wrapped up too much in itself for its own good. It’s much like Alias became towards it’s end. Questions are just answered with more questions, and it becomes frustratingly obvious that your never gonna get the full answers.

Heroes however, is good. Very good. I’d venture to say freaking AWESOME! If your a comic geek more so.

Heroes and Lost are the 2 best shows on in my opinion. I am watching 24 again this season, even after i keep telling myself i wont year after year. It just fills in a slow television season. The show is just plain silly. Usually (this season no exception) he will get hot or stabbed in the first hour, buy hour three he has done forgotten he is wounded. I can suspend reality as much as the next guy, but this show is just ridiculous. Oh and why is he ALWAYS whispering?
