“The more we live, more brief appear
Our life’s succeeding stages;
A day to childhood seems a year,
And years like passing ages.” — Thomas Campbell
So we’re early in a brand new year, but when we were recording this vlog, it was still the very last bit of 2012 standing on its tippy toes, not eager to exit just yet. But there it went, eventually, and here we are.
It’s always been a popular thing to try and start the new year with a clean slate — to treat it like a do-over — and resolve to do something better than was done the year before. But does making such a resolution sometimes defeat our best intentions? I don’t know. We all have different ways of motivating ourselves to undertake lifestyle changes (or not). If waiting to make a move on your bad habits until the year’s rolled over like a line of 9s on an odometer works for you, then I wish you luck!
Me? Well, I’ll just take things slow. I’m not making any promises, but every day’s a chance to move in a positive direction. I’m not going to wait until the calendar rolls to 2014 if I muck things up this early in the game!
