Yule Love This Christmas

Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing. — William Shakespeare, Macbeth

Candles aren’t usually allowed in our house. Apart from being obvious fire hazards (especially around a pair of dogs who like to roughhouse with one another), they leave soot everywhere. But Diana loves them, so I decided to relax the house rules during the holiday season and give her one candle — as long as she supervises it at all times!

We’ll call it a Yule Rule.
