Chris. That is what democracy is all about!

‘Our freedom to take responsibility for our choices’

Journalists like bureaucrats seem to be a  necessary evil.

Remember the journalist’s code: Good news is no news. Bad news is good news

Suppose the writer is boffing the person at the start-up? Still warm and fuzzy? Or pretty sleazy?

Chris, if you report on some computer device, give its specs, tell users what the device does, maybe add some comments from the manufacturer, you are presenting a news story.  The second you add an opinion about that device, you lose credibility.

The problem with people, is they need someone to tell them how to to think.  Perfect example is the battle between Mac and PC users.  Some like one verses the other.  Everyone has an OPINION.  But sorry to say, very few back up their opinion with FACTS.  Using proper journalistic techniques, a reader should be given the FACTS.

Simple example…  A house burned down today in a Chicago neighborhood.  No one was injured.  Fire Chief Bob Smith stated the cause of the fire is unknown.

Unfortunately, many “reporters” add their own 2 cents.

If you read a “journalistic” article, and the reader writes in the first person, its not a news story, its an OPINION.

Even tech Journalists are usually Mac/iPhone/Windows 7 fans. Who don’t seem to understand that not everyone has a Mac, not everyone has an iPhone and not everyone has Windows 7.
