Obviously to keep track of the reading I want to do, Google’s RSS reader is a must. My routine consists of devoting 30 minutes each morning to reading and responding to e-mails and if there’s any time left over, then catching up on the news, then I set aside 2 hours to devote to the most important project that I want to get done that day. Then 30 more minutes of reading articles and responding to e-mails before lunch. Back to other need-to-do tasks in the afternoon.

By: Michael Paul Wein Wed, 21 Apr 2010 13:39:48 +0000 As a retired consultant in management problems (including time management), I am still fully occupied with my (now pro bono) life, among which is running my own charitable foundation to help women and children in impoverished circumstances. This, and everything else I am involved in, keeps me busier than I was when I used to be working for a living.

I still use the tools I used myself and taught others. I can’t go into huge detail here but a summary might help a lot of others.

1 – before I finished each day’s work, I made a list of the things I needed to, or planned to, work on tomorrow.

2 – in the morning, I took the EXTRA time to think about the most important of the above things and PLAN how I was going to do either the first or all of them.

3 – the planning process, which DOES TAKE TIME, always pays dividends in net saved time.

Good luck and hope you all use your new time savings efficiently, too.

By: phil Wed, 21 Apr 2010 11:52:06 +0000 My wife and I have our google calendars synched + my work Outlool cal is synched as well. We even have a dinner calendar where we try to plan out the week. If you have kids – all of the kid events can drive you batty. Least now I’ll know the event that, as a result of my missing, has scarred junior for the rest of his life.
When he grows up to be a felon, he can point to april 21,2010 – tbe day daddy missed his 6 reherhal of the boys and girls club production of The Wiard of Oz.

See how synching calendars can save you time AND destroy your childs life?
