Are You a Bully or a Victim?

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

A bully is a bully, no matter who or where they are. It doesn’t matter if they are online, or out there in the “real” world. I’ve suffered at the mouths and hands of a bully in my life. As soon as I accepted myself for who I am and not who they thought or said I am, it no longer bothered me. They were the ones with the problem, not me. You’ve probably been the victim of a cyber-bully at some point. They are everywhere, since the anonymity of the Internet makes it easy for them to attack people. If you’re someone who attacks people and makes them ashamed of who they are, stop it! There’s no easier way to lose my respect, than to disrespect someone else.

How Do You Remember Your Passwords?

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

We’ve talked about passwords before, and how to make them secure. You should also never use the same password in more than one location at the same time. If you’re like me, you have tons of passwords, for several different places. So how do you keep track of them, and remember them all? Writing them down on paper isn’t the best way to keep them secure. It definitely isn’t secure to keep them in a text file on your computer!

Can You Rhyme all the Time on a Dime?

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

Some of you unfortunately have had the opportunity to read some of my really bad poetry. It’s fun to do, but I’m certainly not going to quit my day job to become a poet. Back when I began writing, I played around with rhyming. I wasn’t so good at it. What do you do when you need something to rhyme? If you need a rhyme, one of the best websites I have ever seen was just passed along to me the other day.

Do you get Involved in Online FPS?

Michael sent in the following tips for how to get into a online FPS… and not ending up annoying everyone else on the server.

  • Don’t Bunny Hop There is nothing more annoying than coming up against a Bunny Hopper. Imagine if you come up against an opposing player, and you fire off first. Normally in this case, the kill is yours. A Bunny Hopper jumps around like crazy, making it almost impossible to hit them. It is infuriating, and a lot of servers will say somewhere they don’t allow it.

    What’s Your Favorite Computer Mouse?

In all of your history of using a computer, what has been your favorite mouse? Is it the one your using now, or one that you had years ago that has since broken? Mine happens to be the one I’m using now. I’ve had several that I’ve really liked, but this one is just “it” for me. I’ve been using Apple’s wireless Mighty Mouse for about six months now, and I couldn’t be happier. At first, I didn’t think I’d take to it. But I love it! It’s very sleek. It doesn’t force my hand to sit a certain way. The wheel isn’t a “scroll” wheel, it sort of moves in all directions. The buttons on the side can be mapped to different commands. Even though there’s no right click button, there is a right click feature. I don’t know how Apple could even improve upon this. It would take a very very “mighty” mouse to get me to change.

Who Needs Guitar Hero or Rock Band?

Cavinder is a long-time community member, and a self-professed “casual gamer”. If you love music, and enjoy gaming… this email goes out to you!

Hey Chris! I just wanted to see if you knew about this game called Audiosurf. I just found it not too long ago myself, and have been enjoying myself to pieces with it. In a nutshell, it’s a a musical game much like Guitar Hero and Rockband. But this one is different in that it’s a puzzle game on a track. Basically how it works is the game sets up random colored blocks down your track, and you have to collect them. To gain points, you have to collect at least 3 of the same color together. The more of the same color you collect, the higher the score.
There’s a couple more things that make the game interesting. You know how Guitar Hero and Rockband flow on a straight track? Not this game. This game has a twisting track to really mess with your game… and make it more fun. Also, if you notice it, the track jumps with the beat of the song. That is also really cool. During a slow part of the song, the track bends upwards. During a heavy, fast part, the track streaks down.
The absolute best part of this game is the music. You know how Guitar Hero and Rockband have a set list of songs you can choose from? This game will play any song thats on your pc. Thats right any song. You pick which song you want to play, it looks at it, determines the difficulty, the traffic(blocks) and how the track will look all within a matter of seconds. The people who made this game did an incredible thing with that right there, and in my opinion did it the right way. You’ll be pulling songs that you normally wouldn’t be listening to anymore to play them on this game.
I have three separate videos on YouTube, showing myself playing this game so you can get a feel for it. Check out Still Alive, Second Heartbeat, or Bark at the Moon to see how the game looks.

    Violent Video Games Targeted

Violent video games are once again being targeted. Over the past few years, there have been many tugs-of-war amongst politicians and consumers alike on this very subject. I’m not sure that there will ever be a middle ground, keeping everyone concerned happy. Some of my friends had a lot to say on this subject.
