Glasses for me. I’ve had em’ since I was two years old… and really couldn’t think of going with out them. They’ve said I’m a candidate for Lasic… but I just don’t want it. lol… Contacts don’t really work for me… give me headaches, so thats why I’m back to step one.. Glasses FTW@

Contacts are a pain in the neck! AGGGHHH! They are not fun when wearing one and something goes wrong, and you are in pain and are afraid that you will loose an eye. Thanks for the coupons though. Personally I prefer glasses over contacts because they make you look smarter and can easily be fixed. Also, they add to the whole “geek factor” of your life. Lets start a poll; how many geeks wear glasses and how many wear contacts?

My x wife wore contacts she was always getting eye infections. The eye Dr. pretty much told her the same things. Then she broke one and did not know it and put it in her eye it was a nasty scratch on her eyeball.

Thanks Chris, this girl on my bus a while back has contacts and one day she got an eye infection from one of hers since it wasn’t properly cleaned, so she was crying on the bus home holding her eye, it was really sad. well thanks for this, chris.

I have a friend who recently switched from contacts to glasses. Fortunately, I’ve never had to deal with any vision problems (yet), but these tips are great, especially for someone who’s new to contacts.

I actually wear contacts and I follow these steps fairly closely and I have never had any eye problems. No infections and when I wake up in the morning my eyes feel fresher and are very accepting to the contacts unlike they were when I first started wearing them years ago. I also like to give my eyes a break and wear my glasses a few times a week to let my eyes breathe and get some oxygen.

My dad has to wear glasses, and I’m afraid that I may have to sometime in the near future. Contacts would be so great to have, especially as a pilot!!

Well I don’t wear contacts, but I do wear glasses. I have thought about getting contacts, but they kind of sound of a lot of work I guess. Because my sister has them, and she carries her little container with the fluid in it. I don’t know what you call it. But when ever we go on a trip, and we come back she has to take the contacts out and put them in a little container. So I might eventually get contacts, but I am fine with my glasses right know. But I will be sure to check these coupons, and maybe since I have the coupons I will get contacts.

I love wearing glasses. For the basic reason that every two years (or what ever your insurance or your wallet says) you get to change your style. With contacts, don’t really have any style. Colored lens or the ones with designs on them don’t count.

Yeah, I really wanted to use contacts about 7 months ago and got a trial pair. They ended up irritating my eyes to no end and whenever I put in that solution to stop the irritation the contact would come out. Maybe that’s a subliminal message to me: No irritation= no contacts. Anyway they were to much of a hassle when I was in a rush so I gave up.
I will mention these coupons to my mom though. She like contacts and wears them 90% of the time. (instead of glasses)

I’ll stick with glasses for now at least. Since I only need eyewear while driving, investing in contacts isn’t worth it to me. My vision is just slightly nearsighted, and since I can see basically perfect without them, contacts aren’t worth it. Besides, I hate even putting in eyedrops, so contacts would be horrible. Good deals for people who wear them though. :)

i agreed with Wildcat too, glasses for me, when i was younger i didn’t want glasses cause i didn’t want the kids to tease me because i wore glasses, i thought that glasses would make me more ugly, but the kids didn’t tease me at least i don’t remember that they teased me, now i can’t imagine myself without them, i ‘m glad that i didn’t get lenses cause it would be more troublesome, hard to get them on and after a while you have to buy new ones, you buy glasses once then you can use them for years until they are broken or scratched and i think that it’s really good.

I’ve worn contacts since my sophomore year in high school…and I hate ‘em. I’m 37 now and would love to get lasik…just have other things more important to spend the money on right now. Will take the coupons and run with ‘em. Thanks!

These are some nice tips for anyone with contact lens. ALWAYS follow the eye doctors directions. You don’t want to mess up your eyes.

I do not have to worry about glasses or contacts (lucky me), but my parents sure do. My dad spends about an hour trying to get his contacts in. I think he should just stick with glasses, but he is persistent. These tips will not help him directly, but I bet those coupons will.
Thank you, Chris and 1-800-Get-Lens, for the coupons!

My son has been wanting to get rid of his glasses for awhile, maybe this is a great opportunity to get him some contacts. I’ll save the steps to good eye health when using contacts and pass them off to him.

Once I’ve tried lenses they are horrible touching your eyes to put them on.
But everyone can try them out because you can get the first pair for free.
But don’t change glasses looks god and are simply to wear.

Thanks a lot– I’m actually going to very soon try to make the switch from glasses to contacts. It’s going to be alittle strange because, 1) I am going to have to get used to taking them in and out, and 2) I’m going to look a LOT less geeky! (Hmmmm.. a Chris Pirillo with contacts..)

Well, I will consider this for the last stretch of my contact needs. Sorry, but itching and redness for a little over 6 years just isn’t worth slightly better vision.
<will be getting laser beams shot into his eyes.

I would like to be able to get contacts, but apparently i’ve got an ‘odd’ prescription. I also think its a bit risky. I can’t really afford to have contact lens’s acting up on me. I’m a target rifle shooter, and being able to see, as you can imagine, is extremely important. Even a very small flaw be detrimental to a match.
I feel as though I deffinatly know where I am though with Specs.
That said, contacts can have some great advantages for activities such as shooting. People often find using different colored filters under different light conditions can help a lot. I now see people at events wearing tinted lens, a great idea I think!

You will simply be amazed of all the gunk you touch with your hands. You then touch your eyes and your mouth and it just gets gross. Contacts are pretty much the same way. I personally have never owned contacts, but I hear they can be a real pain in the butt. Dont forget to take them out in a timely fashion. Ive seen people with mega red eyes because they leave them in forever.
