Second Act sells factory refurbished electronics including HDTV’s- LCD’s, Plasmas, DLP’s, and 1080p Projectors. I’ll be honest I’m always a little hesitant to buy refurbs, but these guys seem to have a decent rep (4/5 star rating on most review sites). Anybody ever buy anything from Second Act? How would you rate them?

I have never bought from them before but they look to be credible. I am a little hesitant, like Chris, to buy refurbished products but these folks look like they do it right, so I probably wouldn’t mind buying from them.
Thanks for the coupons!

Never bought anything from Second Act. Personally I don’t trust refurbished/used electronics from places/people I don’t know. Call me ignorant, but that is how I am. I like to buy new when it comes to electronics, you never know where the used/refurbished ones have been! You don’t know if they have been dropped or broken. I think that it is just safer to buy new, unless you get a killer deal. Many times the used/refurbished ones are not much cheaper than the new items. I’ll take a look at the coupons though. Thanks Chris!

I plan on buying another game system and a TV to replace the one that is currently in my room. I think I might just have to check these guys out and use the coupons to get myself a new TV.

Haven’t bought anything from them yet, but with the dollar stretching less and less with every year, I imagine second hand and referb is going to be the way to go for a long time, so I’m glad to know there is a good place to find what I need.

I have always thought it amazing that you have reached a status level so high in the advertising sector of the internet that companies allow you to act as a distributer of coupons. I can’t say I’ll use these but I see how coupons directed through you could really help me one day. Thank you for passing everything on to us. Keep up the good work.

Wow! You learn something new every day! I didn’t know about this place until Just now from reading Chris’s blog. A Samsung 46″ LCD for $900! Awesome! As far as refurbished stuff goes, I’ve had great luck. I saved hundreds on my Dell years ago when I bought one of their refurbed PC’s, and it’s still going strong. And with Chris’s stamp of approval on Second Act, I will really have to consider finally getting a flat screen TV at a REASONABLE price.

Chris, I love refurbs they are always great (at least for me), that is the only way I buy a laptop now days. My laptop has been running great for a year! This isn’t the same as a tv but I am just saying that refurbs aren’t bad. Has anyone here actually had a bad experience with refurbs?

I wonder if they’re doing the Re-Furbishment or wether they’re getting a third party to do it. If it’s a third party and you can find out who, you could probably do some more research on them.

Well, I’ve never bought any refurbished……..anything. Though if the price is right it may be worth taking a risk, and with these coupons the price might just magically become “right.” So, thank you Chris for this excellent find, and I may just be buying something from Second Act the next time I’m short on cash for something brand new.

Although I have no experience with this particular seller, I agree with you. If I am going to be buying something as expensice as a high definition television, I want a brand new, brand name product.

I have been looking into a new projector for my Home theater, and if I win that computer I will no doubt get a projector to watch blue-ray movies. Thanks for the cupons!

I Have never Bought any thing from this particular company. But I have bought refurbs several times before and I have found that they have less defects and better warranties. Like my sandisk mp3 player, I payed $25 with a 1 year warranty for it when it was retail $89.99 with a 90 day warranty. A much better deal If you ask me!! And I will continue to buy refurbs as often as possible.

Refurbs were the way to go for me on several occasions as when buying an iPod nano from Apple Store one and a half year before. Still works and I’m pleased with the experience tough I had my doubts at first.
Unfortunately I don’t know much about Second Act but from my previous thing with the refurbed iPod if I see something with a good price tag on it and I need it I’ll go for it even it’s refurbished.

From experience, refurbished equipment is not as bad as most people think it is. If an item is refurbished, that means that the manufacturer has looked at it more closely than the average product.

I’ve had both good experiences and bad experiences with refurbs. Why take a chance; if you look just a little bit harder you can find it brand new for near the same price. You just have to look smart, and spend an extra hour or two. So for me, that bit of extra time is worth it. But I guess it depends on the item as well.

I trust refurbished product but the Samsung combo player is useless, unless you already bought HD-DVD movies. Samsung released a new Blu-ray player at CES and it has hit some store-selves. Look for the BD-P1500. Has profile 1.1 but will be upgradeable to 2 and it only costs $400 bucks.

This will be a good website to go when I get my tax rebate back! I can’t wait to spend it on this website! I need a new tv for my new xbox 360! I’m going to do some research on their return policy though.

I have bought a few refurbs from various places, however none from here. Im a little skeptical of buying any more refurbs since a few have broken, but a few have also worked. These coupons are good for anyone who likes refurbs though, they are huge cuts off.

i don’t trust ín refurbs, when i buy electronics i buy then new in a store, there where i can see how it feels, i wonder if refurbs are as dependable as new ones, although the quality isn’t as good as it use to be , things breaks down more often then it use to do, i wonder if it is because the manufacturers are overunned with requests/demands from us consumers for newer products so the have to use not so lasting thing to keep up with the requests or are they intentionally making less lasting components to make us buy more.

I also would prefer to buy a New product rather than Refurbished. I’ve never bought from second act never even heard of them. I wonder how much money chris has saved people with his coupons.??

I buy refurbs on occasion, I’ve never purchased from Second Act. Usually refurbs are as good as new items and are much cheaper! The only electronic I probably wouldn’t buy as a refurb is an Xbox 360 :P

I have never bought anything from them, but I have heard of them. They always seem to have great reviews. I might consider giving them a try, because these are actually some pretty decent coupons. I actually try to avoid all refurbished products at all costs. These guys seem to have a good reputation, so I might give them a shot.
Thank you, Chris, for posting these coupons and informing us about this company.

I’m live on the UK and I wish we had something like this!
I know that Apple do refurbs and its a pretty good deal if you can afford the brand new product. And they are usually just as good to be honest!
More great coupons, as always!

I never trusted refurb items in the past, but after buying a dell used, and having no problems with it for over 3 years and then going with a new dell that failed first 3 months I’ve grown on them and I know others who think the same.

A 1080p projector would be nice. The only downside to that would be that the room would have to be completely dark for a optimal experience.
