True. WC is really a waste unless your spending the big bucks. High end AC is often the same or better then entry level WCing.

Chris should of asked what CPU he was using and known the max FSB, volt etc.

Clearly the guy calling doesn't know anything. He bought a WC kit (probably not custom) and doesn't know how to o/c.

you need to increase the voltage. Chris has very limited knowledge. He trys to avoid areas he does not know about. This video clearly shows that.

Guys - all processors are different. The safest overall method is to overclock in steps, test the stability each time in all your most important applications, perhaps even run a benchmark like Sandra or 3dmark. Step it up until you get an unstable run, then throttle down one step.

Remember it's nice to be on the bleeding edge - as long as it's not your wallet bleeding.

Oops tried to hit tab to move the text over and accidentally hit submit above!

but what I was going to say was IF water Cooling cannot or will not work, there may just be an alternative. I saw a hybrid system--a mix of peltier cooling and water cooling. It is supposed to provide with SUPER LOW temperatures--which also brings up condensation that can ruin expensive computer components!

Like Chris, I would highly recommend bringing the clock down just a bit, because of the unstableness that you describe. I have had previous issues with instability from my machine that runs air cooling... (Water cooling is just too much of a hassle!)
I needed to bring the clock and the multiplier down on my CPU (AMD) just to get windows to work even though it had worked before!!

Hope this helps!

A 400 mhz bus with a multiplier of 9 should not be a problem wih most new intel cpu's. I run a c2d e6420 at that speed with the stock cooler with no problem. Try increasing the cpu voltage and bus voltage by .1 volts and make sure you dont have your ram running too must faster than it is rated for.
