I can’t believe that everyone in the chat room right now wanted me to record this video. I know it is likely to tick some people off, but so be it. My purpose is not to sway your vote. My purpose is to GET you to vote… to think… to make your OWN decision.
I believe in a lot of things, yet I don’t label myself as a Democrat, or Republican. I label myself as an American. I label myself as someone who lives in a free society, which has the potential to create positive change in our country. To that end, I want you to vote. I don’t really care who you vote for, believe it or not. I couldn’t care less if you vote for who I choose to give my support to. This isn’t a political ad, some campaign material, nor a plea for any certain candidate. I simply want you to get out there and vote come Election Day. I care that you vote… and that you think very carefully about who you vote for, and
America isn’t run by politicians. It’s run by people who put the money in the politicians’ pockets. When I was younger, I didn’t follow politics at all really, nor did I vote. I felt as though it didn’t really matter, and that I couldn’t really make a damn bit of difference. I mean look at it this way: when you have companies who fund a particular politician AND his / her competition, something is seriously wrong. Now you don’t have a two-party system. You have one party. Follow the money trail. Special interest groups RUN this country. Cut. Print. Period.
I know you’re sitting there saying to yourself “Well, politicians have to get their money from somewhere”. Yes, they do. But here’s a novel idea. What about getting their money from US. Remember us? You know… the citizens these politicians are supposedly elected to represent. Yeah. Isn’t that just a crazy little idea, to have the American people decide who their money should go to, who they should support, and why? Imagine being that excited by a candidate that you would give them some of your hard-earned money? We all know money isn’t easy to come by. I automatically dismiss any candidate who accepts the majority of their money from corporations and special interest groups.
If they don’t have money, they don’t get elected? By today’s rules, by today’s media rate card. All that is about to change - and you have the power to change it.
I want to see more people apply critical thinking skills… not just to who they vote for, but in every aspect of their life. You are not in control, but… and here’s the kicker… you have the chance to be in control if you want to be. In order to do that, you have to STOP OUTSOURCING YOUR THINKING. Don’t just listen to me, or some newspaper, tv show, or even your own mother. Listen to yourself. Do your research. Open your mind!!! You have to see other perspectives in order to gain perspective. That is how you grow. If you only choose to listen to people you agree with, you’re living in an echo chamber.
Have we not clearly established that groupthink iS BAD?!
If you vote for someone because you think they are (or have a chance to be) a winner, you aren’t doing yourself or this country any favors. You vote for someone because you believe in them. What’s that? Just like you marry someone because you love them and believe in them - you vote for someone because you BELIEVE IN THEM. I’m tired of cookie-cutter politicians who spout the same tired things, changing their story and hiding their real relationships on a whim. The funny thing is you know you’re being lied to! Yet, you vote for them anyway - because you want to back a “winner.” Well, why not take a step back, and figure out exactly what a winner is?
Only you can decide that… for yourself.
This isn’t a “Blue” or “Red” issue. It’s not a “Democrat” or “Republican” issue. It’s an American issue. I hate when people spit out propoganda. It doesn’t matter if it’s slanted liberal or conservative… it’s still propoganda! I’m sure someone will watch this video and claim that I’m spreading propoganda… or that I’m a fool for beliving one thing over another. Yeah, well… at least I’m not telling you who to vote for. That’s totally up to you.
Just do your best to elect a person, not a company. Want to embed this video on your own site, blog, or forum? Use this code or download the video:

The Special Interest Groups have unleashed ‘joiners’ on Ron Paul meetup groups. I’m pretty convinced of a GOP tactic to slap down Paul’s good reputation by putting ‘armed revolt’ emails into our meetups. Up until now, all our members were discussing events, where to buy supplies, etc. Recently, there are some new joiners who are very different. This can’t be a fluke.

“Bad politicians are voted in by good citizens who don’t vote.” I wish I could remember who said that first. But the idea is there. Politics have been taken over (from both sides) by people who don’t know the fine art of debate. We have forgotten how to reach a consensus. Few people listen to “the other side” without looking for traps.
And just when in hell did changing your mind become verboten? The new breed of pundits seem to think that listening to an exchange of ideas and coming out with a new opinion is the sign of some kind of simple mindedness. When it shows the use of a mind. Period.
I guess what I’m trying to say is simply this. We’ve had a number of years in the US where the simplistic answer to any problem is taken without a second thought. Lets go back to logical arguments and debate on the floor of congress and throw out these simpletons who i wouldn’t hire to pump gas in a one pump station.

Ron Paul does have a chance at winning.
WHY? Look at the Minnesota gubernatorial election, 1998.
Jesse Ventura won. Unexpectedly beating the major-party candidates.
His campaign consisted of a combination of aggressive grassroots events and original television spots, using the phrase “Don’t vote for politics as usual.” He spent considerably less than his opponents and is widely regarded as one of the first candidates to effectively use the Internet as a medium of reaching out to voters in a political campaign.
I’m from Wisconsin… So I watched this play out on TV.
Nobody thought he had a chance to win. The debates were entetaining as hell!
You had these two seasoned polititions who spoke the usual goobly guk… and Jessie - with his straight talk!
So… just remember.. anything is possible!

Chris, your thoughts were a joy for me to hear!
And you’re right; speaking of conspiracy theories is often just counter-productive. As it pertains to personal freedom one merely has to look at the topic of “mindfulness”. Alan Watts, one of my early heros, also spoke to something called the “science of no-mind”. In regards to “assumptions”, one eventually becomes cognizant that most are rationally or irrationally derived from “ig-nore-ance”…
… Which is why “beliefs”, more often than not, generally arise from fear.
Language itself can produce a kind of “tyranny-of-words” - if we allow it to dominate our “thinking”. For instance, the pronoun “I” - by its very definition - is really just completely made up… when one customarily attaches it… to his/her everyday thinking. To recognize the truth in just about anything is often illusory and fleeting…
… Even in such declarative suppositions as Descartes’ “I think, therefore I am”.
Conspiracy theories, of course, only spring from circumstances… absent of trust… through ignorance… or disregard… for the truth. In capitalist societies where individuals and corporations battle it out for mindshare of the consumer spending public’s faith and confidence… before converting malleable thoughts into actions… in order to gain market share… this can’t help but be a natural consequence… of such secretive or collusive arrangements.
See the circular pattern? ~lol~
What we call Left or Right thinking… is manipulated… by those in the financially and intellectually powerful elitist groups… of our society. Sun Tzu… maybe Lao Tzu too… might have said something along the lines of “keep your enemy guessing” for maximum strategic advantage… or for whatever reason… is suitable for the occasion. An old adage from the western tradition contained words like “divide and conquer”. In either case, the effect is the same.
Sometime, just for fun, take the time one day to read up on so-called communitarian law… and communitarianism. This will really get you and your compatriots going!
But then please, also simply laugh it off. Take pride in this bit of nostalgia from another “old ****” who said:
“It rankles me when somebody tries to force somebody to do something.”
Today this congressional gold medal recipient - and fellow Iowan - is known throughout the world as just “John Wayne, American”.
Ron Paul is different for the very same reasons that all of us are different - real Americans must celebrate our differences now and unite behind him.
Only… you know what? I believe you may have stated the same… but even more convincingly!

Above the place for posts it says “What Do You Think?”. I think Ron Paul is an unrealistic nutjob. I wonder about those who say they don’t agree with him on everything but still worship him. And yes, I’ve read so many posts by his followers that I think worship is the only way to describe it.
To the best of my knowledge Paul believes in the elimination of business regulation. Here is a quote from a speech of his.
In addition he used this lovely and completely inaccurate statement, “Price fixing is impossible to achieve in a free market.”. Even Adam Smith knew that this wasn’t true.
He also thinks that Lawrence v. Texas was incorrectly decided because while the federal government shouldn’t have the right to govern people’s private lives the states should have that right. His position is that if the majority of people in a state want to ban something because of moral objections then they have that right and the minority have no rights to live their lives differently than what the majority approves of. Please do not give me the “They can move.” response to that one.

For anyone who does NOT believe that real change is possible I hasten to remind them that a unified electorate—at least in part sick and tired of America’s “foreign policy” (i.e., the war in Iraq)—shifted the political composition of Congress in the last election and, more significantly, were consequently responsible for Secretary of War Donald Rumsfeld’s resignation the day after the election.
Unfortunately most voters (i.e., most people in general) are so locked into the “inevitability thinking” Chris has alluded to here that they wouldn’t THINK of unseating a sitting president in a time of war: i.e., since “everybody KNOWS that you don’t change presidents in the middle of a war” they wouldn’t think of voting the self-serving idiot out of office even IF: 1) they recognized him to be the self-serving idiot that he is; 2) they didn’t agree with the war in Iraq; and, 3) they hadn’t voted for him in the first election. (Although Bush may have stolen the 2000 election he won by an unequivocal majority in 2004, signaling to the world outside the United States that most of the country implicitly supported the war in Iraq, despite the lies and subterfuge upon which it was based.)
It’s time to stop voting (and “thinking”) the way we’re being PROGRAMMED to vote (and “think”) and start doing some REAL THINKING and INFORMED VOTING.
Remember Quick Draw (”I’ll do the thinking around here, Baba Looey”) McGraw? If you recall, Baba Looey was the smart one.

I wish we had a man like Ron Paul as our leader, to stop the hundreds of thousands of anti-White hordes flooding into our country every single year, to stop unjust wars in which our brave troops are dying every day (I mean Iraq) and to stop the murder of unborn children that happens every single day.

Those of us that think logically have been disgruntaled with the whole “purse-string” process and do see how Ron Paul sets himself apart from other candidates. That’s the way its supposed to be! But if you have noticed . Bush and Cheney are the biggest war criminals ever and also committed treason by all there terror talk! And lies to get us in to wars that had nothing to do with 9/11. Yet the people cant even get them impeached. Because there is huge corruption going on! This president and congress has taken the power away from the people. That’s why we need Ron Paul to get us back to the constitution.

When did we as a society stop looking to the educated or the wise, the experienced and yes the OLD for guidance? There’s only one real way to know where we came from and being educated enough to know how to deal with the future. That is to listen, learn and seek the knowledge other people have gained through years of study and life. I find it remarkable and unbelievable how disturbingly unintelligent we have become in a little over 300 yrs.

The tradition of looking to the old for wisdom took a big dive after WW2, but was in decline since the late 1800s. Traditional, “primitive” cultures venerate the old and dead, while modern, busines-oriented cultures value youth.
