How to Use a Camcorder as a Webcam

http://live.pirillo.com/ – There are many ways to stream video on the Internet, but a crucial component is the video camera that you use. I can either be a webcam, built specifically for capturing video and displaying it on your computer, or a camcorder. The question is, then, how do you stream video from your DV camcorder?

Free Software vs Free Trial

I don’t know if I’d call myself a software expert, by any stretch of the imagination – but I do know good software (and a good deal) when I see it. Window Clippings just went shareware, and I started an exchange with Kenny Kerr about this move – specifically, related to the new licensing structure (what it was, how it works, etc.). After sending him the following bit of text, he responded with a link to his earlier assertion.

Personal Money Management

A penny saved is a penny earned, Ben Franklin once said. Smart man, that Ben – and I guess his sage wisdom has not escaped the minds of my generation. Of course, the lessons learned have been lessons different! Ponzi and I were recording videos yesterday, when she suddenly started talking about one of my bad habits: I throw away pennies because I can’t stand ‘em. She continued to talk, despite live stream hiccups. When the stream came up again, she was finished – so I asked her to repeat it for the live chat’s benefit. It was a bit awkward at first, but we got rolling again quickly.

Make Your Intel Mac a Fast Mac with Less Fat?

This is pretty amazing, thanks to a new supporter (”JC”):

I saw your you and your wife use a mac. You mentioned in one of your videos and I also saw it in the video too. I am not sure if yours is one of the core duo or core2duo chips inside of it. If it is be sure to get xslimmer. It’s a great program. What it does it removes the old powerpc code that you don’t need from the universal binary programs. I have noticed my programs start up faster, and use less ram. Also I get back lost hard drive space. The only drawback is the program costs $11.95 but I think its worth it. Sorry to waste your time if you have heard about it before.

Help with Bad Credit Loans

One of my readers, Bill, had this bit of feedback on our Bad Credit video and set of credit help links:

First, using credit score to base a person’s financial ability is DUMB. More and more companies are doing it for mortgages, insurance, to rent an apartment and even job applications! There are some people who have a credit score of zero because they do not borrow money. This means they would be denied an apartment lease or have higher insurance rates.

Pay Off Student Loans

What is VoIP?

http://live.pirillo.com/ – Voice over Internet Protocol – VoIP – is a method of using the Internet to talk to people. VoIP technologies can be either software or hardware; for example, Skype offers both a software solution as well as a hardware solution. They offer quick, easy, and cheap access to anyone with a telephone (some services charge a low monthly rate for unlimited calling!)

Bad Credit Report Repair

Even though the live stream wasn’t working very well at the time we recorded this, I’m pretty pleased with how this video / conference call turned out. Keep in mind, possibly before you watch (or listen) to our segment, that Jason has fully explained his situation in the How to Repair Your Credit post. There’s no way you could crawl out of hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt with nothing more than minimum wage. I’ve (thankfully) never been in such a dire situation before. The worst debt I’ve ever been in involved my student loans.
