Copernic Desktop Search Feedback

I loathe the ineffectiveness of Windows Desktop Search (and the bloated nature of just about any piece of Google desktop software). Sadly, Copernic Desktop Search does not run very well on Windows Vista in conjunction with Outlook 2007. I finally got around to uninstalling it a few minutes ago, and was promptly redirected to a feedback page on Copernic’s site.
For how long did you use Copernic Desktop Search?
More than 1 year
What was the main reason that prompted you to remove Copernic Desktop Search?
Because it doesn’t work with Windows Vista / Outlook 2007.
While you were using Copernic Desktop Search, did you experience any problems?
Yeah, it doesn’t work with Windows Vista / Outlook 2007.
Do you have ideas or comments that you would like to share to assist us in improving Copernic Desktop Search?
Sure, make it work with Windows Vista / Outlook 2007.
Please provide any additional feedback here:
How about trying to make it work with Windows Vista / Outlook 2007?

It seems that there is some kind of common thread here.

I just got a new Dell running XP because Vista runs IE7 and all my corporate clients view websites in IE6. At the same time I got my sons machines that run Vista, and I’m really not jealous at all. I think it’s going to be six months before Vista is really ready to use, because of software incompatibilities like this one.
I stuck Copernic desktop search straight on my XP machine and love it. It’s fast, works really well (you know, it finds things for you when you need them), and doesn’t slow my machine down to a snails pace like all the other desktop searches.

Chris have you tried the v2 Beta for Vista and Outlook 2007? Works great, been using it for about a month.

Ask and you shall receive! Apparently Vista performance has been fixed and is now out of beta.

Copernic Desktop Search in all its forms and versions:
DOES NOT NOT INDEX OUTLOOK CALENDAR ITEMS. OR APPOINTMENTS (what ever you want to call them).
So if you any extensive appointment notes, you can forget about Copernic DS even finding it.
I was a faithful follower once but they refuse to fix the issue while they do other more stupid fixes.
God only knows how many times I’ve told them via email and web forms.

Problems errors with Copernic Search.
I installed it after getting sick of MSN search hogging resources. Heard great things about Copernic but man, it was not for me. This was one program from hell. It came up with an install error 0×0101 which meant nothing of course. Copernic does not have a forum where you can find out those things (maybe because others have problems too). Tried to uninstall it - no way - uninst.exe would not do a thing. So tried my old trick disable it in startup and restart it must uninstall now - still no way! Unbelievable - fortunately, I do a system restore (backup) prior to putting any new program on so reverted that way.
If you want to use it I recommend do a System Restore/Restore Point first!

Copernic didn’t index my computer for a long time, and when it finally did, the color scheme comes across as some kind of 1600’s color tv show.If we’re talking desktop search, aesthetics have to play a large part - and Copernic let me down here

copernic works very well with Vista and outlook 2007. It can be faster than the built in Windows Search. Not sure why you would post something that is incorrect. I have disabled the widows search service and just use Copernic, and overall system performance is faster and the search is better.

to joe o:
The article from Chris date back from May 07. It is true that now Copernic works well with Vista and Outlook 07 all together.
