Chris Redlitz on Feedster

One name has been affiliated with searching blogs longer than almost any other company online: Feedster. The service now indexes over 25 million feeds, which translates to over one billion documents searched. After going through a substantial overhaul during the past year, the Feedster search engine is revamped and revitalized with a goal of providing even more relevant results than it did in the past, which is no small task with the constant encroachment by blog spammers looking for a way to take advantage of every search outlet. At SES New York 2006, Chris had the chance to sit with Chris Redlitz, President of Feedster, to talk about what’s changed at Feedster, what’s the same and what we might expect to see in the future.

Cell phone billing and contracts may be one of the more confusing things we deal with on a regular basis. The bills often contain taxes and add-on charges that lack clarity or simply don’t make sense. Tax rates vary by state and occasionally enter double digit ranges more commonly associated with credit cards. Contracts aren’t much easier to figure out, with tons of fine print the average consumer will never read and break fees that aren’t clearly spelled out at the time of sale. MyWireless.org is one organization actively working to help consumers both save money on their cell phone bills as well as educate consumers about what they should watch out for when buying into a cell phone plan. At the Showstoppers press event preceding CTIA Wireless 2006, Jake talked with Erin McGee of MyWireless.org about their role in consumer advocacy and education and what people can do to make better cell phone buying decisions.
