Tiffany Diamond Earrings

The ol’ song says that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. I believe that the entire diamond industry is a racket, and I can’t wait for synthetic diamonds to sweep in and drive prices down. I’m sure our female faves will still lust after the real thing. Nobody’s going to ask you if the diamonds are artificial or not, and if they even have to ask - they can’t see the difference, anyway! We’re not talking about cubic zirconia here. The man-made diamond trade is long overdue for men in love with women in love with diamonds.

Ponzi sang happy birthday to herself this morning. Of course, she does that every morning - but she really means it every year on August 1st. I was using our new digital megastore to search for diamond earrings. I found a few that I really liked - and from that list, I went seeking a local Tiffany’s store. She’s wanted diamond earrings from the dawn of time, ya know.

Great cut, great clarity, great color - and “great” won’t begin to describe the bill we’re going to see from the credit card company at the end of the month. Oy!

[...] Diamonds are a girl’s best friend! Chrissy-poo surprised me tonight with the gift… they’re awesome! I’ll never, ever take them off. You can see in this photo a second hole that’s a little red, because the setting was just a bit too big for it. They’re the best diamond earrings ever!!! [...]

They are now able to make diamonds from the carbon in a person’s cremated remains. (www.lifegem.com/ )

I fully expect that when I’m on my deathbed my wife will bring me a carton of cigatettes. :(

She makes them look quite nice!

It took me 4 years of married life to realize that diamonds are indeed a girl’s best friend. For almost all of the 4 years I kept postponing buying any diamonds cause I could never logically understand what was so great about buying a sparkling stone. As it is my wife is very pragamatic and quite geeky so I thought she would not be greatly impressed with me splurging money. And my poor lil darling never complained. This time just for a lark I bought her a diamond ring (our wedding band was a gold ring) and she was beaming forever:) and now she is running around town showing it to everyone she knows and I am getting a lot of brownie points;) I am also getting a lot of threats from friends whose wives are pestering them for a ring;D

If Chris had married me when I asked him years ago, those would be mine!

Hehe - congratulations!
She’s a 33% girl…..

“The study found 77 percent of women surveyed would prefer a new plasma television to a diamond solitaire necklace and 56 percent would opt for a new plasma TV over a weekend vacation in Florida.”

I have been married 29 years and I discovered early-on that one of the secrets to a long relationship is this: Never give your wife a present that comes with an electrical cord. Even Chris Pirillo, the geekiest guy I know, has figured this out.

Absolutely pathetic!

Yes..diamonds are way overpriced. So what! You did the right thing by getting the diamond earrings for Ponzi. She’s the best & she deserves them. My other half goes deaf when he hears the word “diamond” but he gave me mucho sapphire with diamond jewels and I love them & love him. You did good, Chris.

Chris,

Check out Mossanites (www.moissanite.com/brilliance_fire.cfm), they are man made, slightly cheaper than Diamonds, and shine twice as bright.

The diamond industry has done an exceptional job of marketing a not-exceptionally-rare mineral as a symbol of love, fashion, and persistence. But we humans are irrational creatures, and most women still love a diamond ring, just as we guys love dumb things too, like impractical cars and useless gadgets. And hair-growth products. :)

You did the right thing to get her what she liked. And she ll cherish them forever.
I waited 2 years to get mine, I wanted a 2 carat size and I got it after lenghty discussions. we both paid for it and I was happy. Got him a 1.50 carat . The second time he asked for his share back, he got dumped and I paid for the diamond and I kept it ! I enjoy wearing it now !
