All “top” lists suck – and here are the top reasons why:

1. Mindshare is ethereal. Numbers alone will never, EVER tell the full tale.
2. A list is only as strong as its deveoper, structure, validity (mindshare), and taxonomy. You may not even rank on the “X list” because the indexer doesn't know about you.

When Chris talks about the average Joe and Judy PC user, the people he’s talking about are anything but average. Joe and Judy are the people who brought Chris from Beta through his final release as Geek 1.0. In this segment we hear first from Judy, who tells us how she trained Chris’s dictionary and text-to-speech engines. Later Joe jumps in with insight into the world of telemarketing from the business side and a few more anecdotal points about debugging the geek who powers this show.

On our way to lunch today, not long after I shared something somewhat personal with her, Ponzi shared something personal in return – something which made me very proud of her. I can't tell you what “it” is, but I hope that she'll share it with everybody soon enough (when the time is right). I can tell you this: I support “it” wholeheartedly, although the details haven't yet been flushed out.
